  1. That's cool :bounce: hopefully some will hatch! I've seen spawning behaviour from tetras before but never seen any eggs.
  2. It looks like dwarf sagittaria to me. Actually it appears to be banned in the Auckland region.... which is a pain I was researching this plant the other week and came across this webpage: http://www.arc.govt.nz/environment/biosecurity/search-for-plants/index.cfm?63E0F20E-14C2-3D2D-B905-50098EBBE4B9&plantcode=Sagsub
  3. Nice plants Phoenix! The arcuata looks awesome!
  4. I saw some little fish in one of the Auckland Zoo ponds at the weekend and was wondering what they were. Looking at that link I think they must have been gambusia. This is probably a dumb question but why don't they get rid of the ones at Western Springs if they're so bad?
  5. Congrats! Hopefully soon we'll be able to register the breeding Any signs of spawning from the jags? Cheers, Sarah
  6. Cool fish I went to HFF yesterday to see the new fish and came away with some false eight-banded barbs - will post pics elsewhere later
  7. Yeah I reckon you might be right. My plant doesn't look like the Nymphoides aquatica photos on the web and looks more like Nymphoides indica . Mind you it doesn't look like your pic either it only has floating leaves....

  9. Yep I second Zev - my experience with ottos is that they don't last very long
  10. hi there, yes bracing is the glass on top of the tank, at the ends and in the middle. I'd imagine the bird barn tanks would have bracing.
  11. haha yes that is a shame  Wok sent some cake along to our meeting a few months back and it was great :bounce:
  12. Welcome back! The black substrate looks nice
  13. Bummer about the car Wok Shame you couldn't make the tank crawl and that we didn't get to see your baby jags
  14. Hi Fruju, The Auckland club's meetings are pretty social. Sometimes we trade fish or plants (though I always forget to take anything  ) You should come and visit one of the meetings We currently meet at Green Bay Community Hall. There's a meeting next Tuesday at 7.30. Cheers, Sarah
  15. Cool, I like tank setup logs! It looks good Phoenix. What is the substrate that you're using? I'm wondering if the banana plant is actually an aponogeton of some sort? I think banana plant is more lily-like. I like your idea for growing the xmas moss! :bounce:
  16. The first one looks like a goldfish which has adapted to salt water
  17. Nice fish P44! Baby cichlids are so cute. Is that a nano I see? It looks pretty
