what's this thing that washed up on the beach?

Hi, I've just got back from doing the Abel Tasman tramp.... it was very cool. We found these weird jelly things on the beach and I was wondering if anyone knows what they are. I saw similar things on the beach and in the water at Christmas time. This one is a bit different as you could see the creature inside. Here's a closeup:

Did you remember what this plant is called Supasi? I like that ludwigia helminthorrhiza.... will have to try it some time

I only found the shop by accident as I saw it on my way back from IKEA. Luckily I persuaded my brother that we should hop off the tram and go visit it I think the first pic is a peacock gudgeon -

I'm not sure what those fish were. Here's some pics of the fish: I don't think we can get these here but they're cool: Geophagus tapajos (I think) and others: The firemouths didn't like me taking their picture: -
Last year I went to this awesome aquarium shop in Melbourne called Subscape Aquarium. They had some cool fish and plants, including ones that we can't get here and some nice planted tanks.
