  1. I put a $50.00 bet down that this will never happen. Been there tried that. You will end up spending in excess of $500.00 for one species of plant in which you will never make that money back. I don't think you quite understand how difficult it is to import aquatic plants compared to fish...
  2. Great photos! What camera and Lens are you using?
  3. Yea its pretty unusual. I bred so many fish in it it! The tank was part of a display rack from pet corner that I got when it closed down. had it for about 3-5 years then sold it on trademe to a guy about one or two years ago.
  4. lol I think that is my old tank! I had it in a breeding set up that I sold. same shape same stick on thermometer. do you live in the auckland region?
  5. I assume most people read in the paper about this and just noticed on msn news they had this up http://health.msn.co.nz/healthnews/8542 ... vestigated Isnt that a picture of a poly? If the man had gone to North Shore hospital I may have been able to retrieve some of the x rays lol but unfortunatly he went to Auckland lol :sml1: . How does everyone think it got up there? another gerbil in a tube act?
  6. I have a couple and have always been tempted to try this seems they do like aquarium water
  7. lloks like a moss I tried to growout of the garden, died off in two weeks
  8. takes one to know one big boy lol
  9. Its not banana plant. the common "banana plant" (not actual banana plant but everyone sells it as that) in nz is Nymphoides humboldtiana or Nymphoides indicum The actual banana plant is nymphoids aquatica and as far as Im aware it cannot be grown emersed. They are in NZ but harder to come by. I would have to say this plant in question is a marginal plant and will not thrive underwater.
  10. not an anubias. more than likely a marginal plant. I had some too a while back didnt grow to well. I dont think its true aquatic. see my thread viewtopic.php?f=2&t=40136&p=436622&hilit=banana+plant#p436622
