  1. Yeah it's coming back again, thanks Zev Knowing me, I'll disrupt its roots again with my endless attempts to get the scape looking right
  2. My affinis is the most delicate crypt I've had. I bought some more of it from trademe and even though I planted it gently it still melted... shame as it was looking really great when I bought it :-?
  3. our tank crawl is on November 22nd - you could come along and see my tanks then
  4. I was the other Aucklander (Sarah ) it was nice to meet you! We'll have to come see your tanks sometime
  5. I agree with fordayzbro - I've had the same plant and I think it's Elatine gratioloides (cos that's what Supasi said ) Here's my post with a pic of the plant in my pond: http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=44504&p=482948#p482948

    Proud of me

looks cool! Is that pygmy chain sword in the left corner?
  7. You're so lucky having school holidays! Haven't you got any more tanks to re-scape or do water changes on?
  8. yeah I'm pretty sure it's completely closed.... which does suck as it was cool. Last time I went the leopard tortoises (I think that's what they are) were outside in a small enclosure. Anyone noticed the gambusia in the ponds there too?
  9. I saw those pygmy cories today - very cute!
  10. Nup, that would be julidochromis (african cichlid) I think
  11. Might be a different one - Hahei is in Coromandel eh? I'm talking about Goat Island north of Auckland by Leigh... snorkelling is cool though!
  12. If you like animal parks there's Ti Point Reptile Park near Leigh. Also in the area is Goat Island marine reserve for diving (gets really busy though at the weekends!) I quite like Butterfly Creek as well (butterflies, fish and crocodiles ) And you should visit Odelia and myself if you have the time

    Hi from AKL

Welcome Nice to see another central Aucklander (I'm in Sandringham)
  14. Just make sure you don't want to move the tank once you fill it with the aquatic mix.... it's a pain to remove the and try and separate the gravel and aquatic mix!
  15. Yep, I got my last lot from Bunnings Mt Roskill too
  16. Maybe it could be a topic for the next club meeting? I'm no expert though - I've only hatched them once :-?
