  2. Hi all, The Auckland Fishkeepers club will be having a stand at the upcoming Pet Expo on September 18-19 at the North Shore Events Centre. It's open from 10am to 5pm both days. We'll be having cold water and tropical freshwater setups, and some of Adrienne's famous fighters We'd love to see you there! http://www.petanimalexpo.co.nz/

  4. Wow, how long ago did you buy that? I didn't think you could buy cichlids for $6 I thought the flowerhorn looked good but not when you consider I'd need to shell out for a larger tank
  5. Hi there, My guess would be the angels, as I've heard they can eat neons. Maybe they suddenly realised "hey - these look like food!"
  6. Yes that was my evil plan  Sorry for the thread hijack Ryan, but I think it sounds like we need to organise a yum cha trip

  8. Hi Ryan, I don't have much experience moving house with tanks (well none actually) But it will be cool to have you up in Auckland! What area of Auckland are you moving to?
  9. Looks great! five foot is a great size for a planted tank - mine's only 4 and it's not big enough
  10. Ah ok, your question makes sense then  you should def enter
  11. Might be a bit far for people to drive from Hamilton. You could join the Auckland club instead - we have tank crawls too We haven't planned the next one yet but that might be on the list of things to do after pet expo....
  12. It's a great article Adrienne It may just tempt me to set up a spare tank for my male fighter who's been blowing bubble nests in the community tank.... The rest of the magazine is cool too - thanks Caryl!
  13. Beachlands = Beach haven maybe? (I get lost on the shore too )
  14. Looks good! Do you have to do lots of trimming? I found that CO2 got rid of the green hair algae in my tank.
  15. That's awesome! It looks like a real stream rather than a PVC pool

    whitespot outbreak

Sorry to hear about your whitespot outbreak. I've been having trouble with whitespot too - my dwarf rasboras have got it and I've been treating them for a while without getting rid of it. I'm going to try raising the temperature even more (I put it up to 28 but will try going up to 30). Tiny fish look really sad covered in whitespot
  17. You're welcome supasi, it was nice to meet you!
