  1. that layout one looks about right for what im wanting. idealy i want to be able to draw a line and tell it how long i want it to be, tell the circles what diameter to be by entering them into a text box rather than trying to draw it to the exact length. so then i can make an accurate to scale drawing looking like this one so i can see how thick/thin the ally will be in places. hopefully that makes sence.
  2. lol! theyre solid subframe mounts for a nissan
  3. i want to do a drawing for these: i was thinking of a programme where you do a orthagraphic drawing and it turns it into a isometric or similar picture
  4. hey im looking at free technical drawing programms and was wondering if anyone can recomend any to me?
  5. whats the temp of the room the tanks are in? if the room temp is warmer than the tank then you will have a hard time making it colder unless you get a chiller.
  6. i wouldnt concider the ones at holiday fish farms to be a barracks. more of a divided tank that shares the same filter. the cells that mainly get used are beany baby display cases available from overseas. but for a more local source try looking into juice bottles and the larger water containers and just cut the tops off them. and how many compartments are you thinking of having? 50-100?
  7. fish have been through the xray many times before but they can sometimes be a problem at the gate. generally it should be fine if theyre in some sort of box so they cant escape easily like an icecream container.
  8. you should, those yellow fighters i got from you ages ago where awsome!
  9. is that all the other fish in the tank?
  10. another tank crawl! goodie i missed the last one
  11. i would just leave them in the tank to go for it, and then when they get to a decent age where theyre big enough, about 2-3cm then sell them off leaving your original lot in the tank so you dont overpopulate the tank
  12. i think i saw them in a video i saw recently back in December.....
  13. im sure thats wrong as its the join between the glass surfaces that hold the strength. it will all be about forcing the silicone into the join and making sure that the join is free from contamination and throughly cleaned before applying the silicone.
  14. having a 4 foot tank divided into 4 sections is much the same as having 4 1foot tanks butted up end to end, it will be so braced that it would be fine with the silicone you have now. its probally more of a disclamer so they dont get into trouble for people making huge tanks and not doing perfect seals
  15. put the pump back into the sump and put some foam under the sump?
  16. yay jappas! i was starting to wonder if any turned up at all
  17. i would cover it in a layer of poly, as if its in a poly box. when ryan moved from bulls to auckland they covered the tanks in bubble wrap, most of the tanks made it up except his larger 5footer. (the moving company payed out)

    Hey Sam!

i thought i would join in, with my epicly lame one, i still dont know where she got the fish from, my guess is that she stole it from someone closeby who went fishing
  19. heaters on, always on. when your tank was that high was the heater on (light iluminated and heating the water) or was it due to the temp outside the tank?
  20. whats the yellow thing sticking towards the camera? is it its lower half of its beak?? im guessing tui?
  21. albinos have colours and patterns too!!!! edit: found another photo
  22. and then they start breeding....... then there will be a fair few critters that need feeding and changing
  23. i would do the fish in two lots, dannios first to cycle the tank then your cories, just throw them in and do 20% waterchanges daily for a week, then drop it to 2 waterchanges per week. then add your cories and any more dannios. i would only test the water every 2-3 days during the cycle to give you and idea if you should be doing more or less water during each waterchange. rember to do the test before you do the waterchange, not after.
