  2. wouldnt the running cost not me much diffrent from that of a spa pool?
  3. no, but you need to pay for the time that the registration ran out to when the change of ownership was carried out, but if its a few days the post shop dosent worry about it (personally happend with me) the sales yard has to provide you with a car that has atleast 3 months rego and a WOF that was issued recently before you get it (i think its 1-2 monts). short answer, hes having you on so if you tell him that you cant be bothered with going through with the hassle of the sale and want to pull out im sure that he will start singing a diffrent tune
  4. just by looking at vincentdiscus.co.nz the super checker board has a orange tint to the fins while these guys dont... well thats what i can tell from my undiscuseducated eyes
  5. lol yup! thats the one, i couldnt have a look at it last time as i didnt have excel on my home computer, i think your article might need to be stickyed/ hidden in the technical drop down on the main page
  6. looking like a great start, i saw somewhere a calculator for what thickness of poly to use for insulation if you choose to go down that route, cant rember where i saw it though
  7. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Building-renov ... 372144.htm or similar. the landlord cant complain much about that.

  9. the valve going on the 'to tank' side not the 'to sump' side
  10. those fish are totally wicked, havnt seen them around though, are they available in NZ? edit: just saw Pseudomugil gertrudae and furcatus are available on the import list, but if they are in or not is a diffrent story
  11. glowlights, black neons, albino black neon
  12. ryans large guys where breeding on sunday when they where dumped into their new tank up here.
  13. i run a dehumidifier in my room after it started getting moldy and its stopped the mold. when building it it would be best to build it like a bathroom and have waterproof walls. like core flute
  14. i wouldnt bother with the floor but the roof would be a priority by aerate to you mean the room or the tanks?
  15. last i was there, maybe 4 months ago there was no fish, just carp. and there was maybe 3 small reptile enclosures. dont even think there was a tuatara. just skinks and galapagos tortoice. the under renovation bit might be the seals enclosure where there is now a under water viewing area
  16. have a look around for the transformers, im sure that you can get them alot cheeper. look into laptop chargers and the like. this is unsealed and would need to be in a box but could be used if you know what your doing http://www.trademe.co.nz/Electronics-ph ... 566164.htm depending on how geeky you are you could buy http://www.trademe.co.nz/Electronics-ph ... 227972.htm and have some individual blue ones mounted on a sheet of perspex or vera board
  17. great write up! looking forward to the one about gold cross backs
  18. looks to be working fine, got to ask did you put this guy here or did he get there all by himself?
  19. 6 posts down... and its a video instead viewtopic.php?f=32&t=48168
  20. that to me sounds like the best idea, or car window tint. im not familiar with the jewel tanks but if the lids like this: http://www.priceinspector.co.uk/d/17336 ... are-prices then it looks like you can lay a bit of hard board or thin tinted/ clear/ black perspex to block some of the light
  21. that and you can instantly change from amazon to malawi to marine and back again without having to get your hand wet. but i do prefer the real animal and have to defend my view on this very subject against my work colleague almost daily
  22. all the joy of a fish tank without the hassle of waterchanges and feeding!
