300w is enough, people have 2 heaters as redundant incase one breaks, not to heat the water more

    Progress

i have about 2.5cm, but i think its a little bit too much, ild think 1.5-2cm would be better on the smaller side.

20l bag, and depends on how thick you want the base, if you measue out your tank and how thick you want the substrate you can work it out
  16. he seems confident, he normally does it with his own phesants as apparantly the bantams make better parents, hes quite experienced and has a few various other rear species

    Progress

palmers near waikumete cemetry has the aquatic mix (ring first to double check though)
  18. just had a chat to him, he said they need to be kept warm, and fed on chick starter with a little cat food. or he suggested that hes got a bantam that he can attach the chicks to so then the bantam does all the work for you
  19. or the fnzas volume calculator! http://www.fnzas.org.nz/index.php?PG=tank i think it would be around 10L of gravel do you intend on getting plants? if so thicket substraite is better, like 4cm
  20. one of the guys i work with is really into pheasants, can ask him tomorrow for you. what sort of size are we talking?
  21. im gonna have overflows and have it so i point the garden hose at the tank for a few seconds when i want to change the water but ive seen ryans one and i think that he has it like a garden irrigation system, turn the tap on, walk away for a few minutes and come back turn the tap off
  22. ryan thinks its easy, i personally havnt done it. but what i understand is that it takes a long time to drill each hole and you have to be patient, i would drill breeding tanks myself but for display and larger tanks and holes ild get the pros.
