    seems all long finned types are lazy compared to their short finned counterparts. just look at chloes awsome white PK! that was just plain awesome and constantly active.

    atleast it looks like its built for living outside. imagine just setting it up next to your deck with a nice native salt water setup in it. no lids or lights so it just runs off the sun..... !drool:

    sounds like a great one critter, is it a normal veil tail or did it look like it might be a HM?

    :nfs: you could always sell him to be and ill breed him! :gigl: yea as above i would be looking for a HM female with great finnage and try go for the pale colour. if you cant i would worry too much as you can then start your own breeding programme to recreate the line.

    +1 but if you want to go through with the siphon design i would remove the top part of your design and run 2-3 'u' shaped tubes to act as the siphon hoses. lsimilar to these ones here but with more siphon pipes for redundancy http://www.ebay.com/itm/Eshopps-Overflow-Box-PF-800-Aquarium-Reef-Tanks-/350187624239 also think about what could happen if it fails

    have you got them tucked away in a corner away from activity? just a thought.

    looks like the weight will be about 950kg. 1 litre of water is 1 kg. also ring your insurance company and see if your contents will cover any damages caused by fish tanks. Im with state and they said that they will repair my rental house if a tank falls through the floor.

    you could run a bilge pump float and boat water pump (the kind for kitchens) to pump water into the tank.

    personally i wouldnt want to xbreed them and create mutts. like crossing diffrent fish species. especially if theyre rear WRT tattooing whats wrong with microchipping? or have you got a tattoo gun and do it yourself?

    a girls underwear drawer? hmm maybe I should elaborate on that a little lol, you can use some stockings to cover the intake of the filter, it will be fine enough to stop the fry. but ask the owner of them first otherwise you may get in trouble :digH:
