  1. Omg, the day after I cured her she died. All others look perfectly fine. Do I have anything to worry about?
  2. Hi guys! Today I just fed my fish and noticed one of my female platys has got many white dottie spots on her. They are everywhere, on her fins, body and head. The dots arent exactly tiny either just small bumps. What is it? Can it be cured? Will it effect my other fish? Thanks guys
  3. Our power was out from 2pm till about 10.30pm. The CPD was pitch black. Kinda freaky to drive around.
  4. The whole of Taupo's power is out so no shopping and my tanks gone down 3 degrees already. Arg!

    Sand

Hi guys, I'm thinking of going with sand but not sure if it will be easier or just a bad idea overall. I have four platy that produce alot of waste, 5 neons and a brisenose catfish. Would these fish be alright with sand? The filter is a top filter built in. The tanks an AR-126. 22L. I've currently got gravel and it's annoying to plant in. So good idea or bad idea???
  6. Does any body else have a neon with a bent back and swims funny? He gets around fine He just looks funny aha.
  7. I do use lead occasionally. But apparently it's bad. Also sometimes the kill my plants. Any other ideas?
  8. What's the best way to way down my plants? They float every now and then and the gravel won't hold them.
  9. Is it true the thread will deteriorate?
  10. Hi everyone. I've got some java moss and hair grass on the way and was wondering what is the best way to put it in your tank? I'm planning on growing the moss on the drift wood but also contemplating on making a carpet. Or would the hairgrass be good for this. The hairgrass is coming in a pot so it's been grown out of the water by looks of things. Any ideas on carpets or what to do with these plants.
  11. I think guppies are ugly all together and I'm yet to have seen some really pretty ones.
  12. I have my tank with me at boarding school in wanganui so I've brought some java moss off trademe from a guy here and this time I hope I can save a few more aha. It was so cute now it's gone cuz of stupid me. Thanks guys
  13. Some spare java moss or platy? I think I've got enough platy just would've liked to have a few grow up so I could give them to my bio teacher.
  14. It is low key over stocked. 4 platy females, no males and 5 neons + a bristle nose catfish. Do you reckon it was because at night they couldn't find a safe place. I have a log they can go under.
  15. I'm having a problem with my platy. Last night I had fry born and didn't find out till after I ate breakfast when my friend noticed the only fry survivor. So I got him into a guppy breeder floater tank and just 10 mins ago I moved the floating tank to the other side Of my 22L tank so the clean water from the filter could get in better and some how he got out despite me taking care he couldn't. As soon as I noticed he wasnt there he mustve already have gotten eaten so I'm pretty guttared right now. Anyway I've still got a couple of pregnant platy left and this time I am determined to save all of them. One of my platy is looming ready. Should I move her into the separate tank at nights? If they are born during the day will thy be able to hide quick enough? And what are the best plants that they can successfully hde in. My females are pretty nasty and won't hesitate to eat them
