  1. Might be a bit of a hassle but a fridge box or washing machine box. just tape up the ends, cut a flap, put some mesh / netting in so it can see. big enough to have a litter box in and a bed, and then the cat wont climb the bars like in a cage. caution for when the 4wks is up tho, they go crazy when let loose so best to have in a small room (like your bathroom) for the 1st couple of free days. good luck.
  2. i have japanese rush. pretty cool looking, heres a link if allowed: http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod ... siteid=26&
  3. yeah thought as much. thanks ppl.
  4. I've just been dropped off one of these and it's about 8cm long. I know nothing about them and have just done a quick search and found they grow bigger, get more aggressive, like to hide & dig. Well the thing is, i already have 5 bristlenoses cruzing the bottom happily and dont want to upset them, or any other fish at that. This particular fish has been living in a coldwater tank with fancy goldfish (sold by a petshop) and just eating away at their fins. The owner told me it should be alright in a tropical tank. Anyone with experience keeping these? Tankmates? I personally think it's too big for my tank. (3ft approx 270ltr) Thankyou thankyou.

Dare i say it..... post mortem? sorry for you loss
  6. Any chance you can get a quieter filter and leave it on? What fish are you looking at getting cause i house a few WCMM in a 30ltr tank over winter with a noisy filter (more so the water dripping back into the tank). i turn it off at night and on again in the morning. do a water change every now and then, syphon the muck every other now and then. They have been fine and even spawned when i did the big water changes.

    killie eggs

1 lucky male and 3 females. just put the mop back in after having it out for a break and just one egg again yesterday.
  8. that was just a ploy to get us to look  Na, i think it's awesome. Most of my lily plants got a bashing from the lamb eating them, even the flowers!! But lamb is in the freezer now and the lillies are kicking back.
  9. yep...... had that happen with a load of nappies. Bad enough that i had to soak/ scrub them before washing let alone do it again after.
  10. i'd say allow at least an hour. It's forever growing but extremly worth while. Think the only sign post from the main rd is one of those yellow aa ones, but it's Ohangai Rd. If you go past the caravan place you've gone too far.
  11. Mokoia pet shop,,, not what it used to be but very nice ppl who own it. Dont think there are any more until you reach NP. Touristy things :: just as you hit normanby, after hawera, turn right accross the railway lines and go about 2-3 min. on the left is Tawhiti museum, VERY worth while stopping in. Have fun
