Buy some different coloured swordtails for me, as I can only find orange ones around tauranga. I will pay all costs before hand. I dont want to have to ship fish far at this time of year so you would have to be somewhere close to tauranga such as auckland or hamilton. If you can buy black, blue, yellow or any other colours of swordtails other than orange, and live close to tauranga. Just give me a PM. thanks

Hi all, I'm just newly registered here, and found this site from information on http://pub64.ezboard.com/fboroniaaquari ... =969.topic, where pagasus NZ had a link to you. I have some cold-water guppies that I've had for a couple of years, and I mostly give the babies away to the local pet shops. I wouldn't mind to get into breeding some of the more beautiful ones, but suspect i would need to invest in a water heater for that type of carry on ? and, i was wondering what size and how many tanks i would need to get into breeding for selling locally?. I heard some people put the fry into alga jar size containers ? is that big enough ?? will i need to get out a small …

Folks, I'm quite happy at the moment. I found 20 or so baby leopard fish in with the adults today. It's been 2 years or so since I had any youngsters of this species. Woo-hoo! Moved them out into a tank of their own and they're happily snacking out on brineshrimp at the moment. Andrew.

Hi guys, one of my female platys in a community tank is Pooing white. I feed the tank frozen bloodworm, par boiled zuchini and flake. She seems happy but have noticed since she had a litter her poos are white. Water is fine, PH7.4 , no ammonia or nitrate/nitrite. Any reasons? Suggestions ? Comments? Thanks Robbo

I come home from holiday to find my baby guppies have their tails clamped. So tight that at the end they are pointed. They seem to be swimming funny too. None of the other baby fish in their seem to be affected (swordtails&platys). Have just put some Wunder white spot cure in there at the moment.

A platy recently bought for me (as part of a christmas present) by my mum is now giving birth but is having a lot of trouble with it. She is giving birth to an extra large, stillborn first fry. I realise that this is quite common, but she started giving birth yesterday evening and still hasn't managed to get more than the head of the first one out. Please note that this is taking place in an unfiltered tank that I originally used as an emergency overflow tank but which my mum decided to stock for me for christmas. A sponge filter (uncycled) will be added later today when I get the airpump for it back from my dad's house. She is currently in a breeding trap without a divid…

I got given a guppy the other day. When I got her home and put her in the tank I noticed she had a thing hanging from her bum. That was white and about 3mm long and about 1mm thick. I set up a spare tank and decided to seperate her. On the move the white thing fell off. Then I look now and theres another one almost looks like a baby that didn't form and is white. Big at one end the tail hanging out of the fish.
