  1. simple things for simple minds? :digH:
  2. quite frankly it is poor design on their behalf that they don't use a UID for each and every image. If they did this there would be no problems in rearranging photos into (new) albums. On another photo site I moved all photos from one account to a different account without loosing/breaking a single pic an any forums.
  3. Getting off topic but here goes many of the Africans can and do cross breed and produce sexually viable offspring when taken out of their natural environment and placed in (say) aquariums. It seems quite common to give fish species status just because they look slightly different and cone from the next lake/river. now look at say the honey bee, there is only one species of honey bee (discounting the Asian ones) yet they come from vastly differing climates/ecosystems/continents and would never have meet if it wasn't for man kind. The bees from differing places look different (colour, wing vein patterns), have differing temperaments, and choose differing sized holes to live in. These different bees have only been subspecies status within Apis mellifera
  4. then there is the var/cultivar name Edit. As Fi5hguy said ps many of the Africans species would fall short of species rank in some naming schemes
  5. :smot: I would guess that estuary sand/silt/mud has much higher nutrient input so could support higher counts?
  6. Looks like the same tank with a Betta was just on a Barbie ad.
  7. My natives do that, well they will chase a laser pointer like a cat will :sml1:
  8. Cats get their own rooms these days? That does it, I'm not letting Smeagol use the internet in case he sees mention of that.
  9. I was wondering why my koura was in a grumpy mood the other day, chasing any and every thing around the tank if they go too close, the day after there is an empty carapace in the tank
  10. It looks like that some have been ID'd from over there:
  11. Could be either common or cran's male by the sounds. Was the head quite long (common) or blunt (Cran's), were the face markings blotches (Cran's) or 'cats whiskers' (common)?
  12. just a question, does the glass have to go all the way to the bottom, you could easy have the glass start 150 - 200mm up the front panel if the bottom of the panel had no (or very little) deformation. correct me if I'm wrong but then you only have to take into account the hight of the water 'on' the glass: | | | <= Glass 800mm | | || || <<= wood 200mm ================ <= Base
  13. do the big tank as a native cold-saltwater, easy :digH:
  14. my charger is 5v 400mA, the wifes' is 5v 350mA
  15. and remember that LEDs don't like too much current either and a phone charger could be pushing out 300-500 mA
  16. I have moved the last two mullet from the 50 l into this tank as they were getting too big, boisterous and fast. I'm sure that they are stunted from not eating well untill just a month or so ago when they finally decided that Nutrafin granules were good to eat
  17. I doubt that the small compressor you have will last when run continually. I think you would be better of with a proper compressor, something like http://www.supercheapauto.co.nz/online-store/products/Blackridge-1HP-Air-Compressor.aspx?pid=296171&menuFrom=80101#Description? edit for the correct compressor and not the $899 one
  18. That would be about right going on what we pay at work - we can go through about one a week when we are using gas
  19. :smot: probably sugar syrup for feeding. There might be some that reuse plastic drums but most packers want new drums for tractability for export.
  20. just about all the honey ones will be steel
  21. as long as it is put togood use afterwards, like a mild curry :digH:
  22. There was a good population of goldfish in there when I was a kid... anyway this is not what stella was asking and everyone knows that there are Gambusia everywhere north of taupo
  23. We use these guys for our 'Bee Mesh' as well, although I think or last order was slightly more than your order joe, I think it was 8 full rolls of #6 mesh
