  1. /me inserts an l above... TV is the devil's tool Alcohol/Tobacco is Big Business' tool Marijuana is God's gift
  2. That would be too defuse to create that 'rippling' that Sam wanted in the first post. I think that the second LED light could work well as it has a built in dimmer, a bit of money for a test though.
  3. No, don't watch much TV - it's the devil's tool to brainwash the masses.
  4. Only ever made one attempt at home brew beer - from scratch (almost), and it was drinkable. I have brewed a few meads/metheglins and melomels. As a beekeeper I have access to plenty raw materials :cofn:
  5. did raeh1 set one up last year then had to sell because of other commitments?
  6. Not sure on the max temp for koura, but I would think around 20-22 would be the limit, My tank is set at 16 deg before the chiller kicks in and it has already been running this spring. Stella and I didn't catch any koura when we went out a month or so a go, in fact we had a very poor night out with only a few bullies.
  7. what did I start... I know a foreman on a Canadian oil rig, both cannabis and alcohol and non the not allowed list. Yet alcohol is a complete no-no on board but light use of cannabis is to relax is ok as long as you are not stoned on shift, says alot I think.
  8. How far have you got? Is it installed on the server? Does it work? Do you just need to adjust the look/feel of the app? I won't be around today but I'm sure someone else will have php/css knowhow... me looks at Zev
  9. In english that translates to partial water changers are good (use water conditioner so you dont kill your bacteria) Salt is good as it will aid in your fish coping with ammonia poisoning. Dropping the temp a little will also help as it will shift the ammonia/ammonium to be less toxic.
  10. I take it you are talking about the the 'herb'... While we are talking about gardening 'herbs' I feel that cannabis should be not just decriminalised, but legalised much like alcohol is now.
  11. Love to see the light setup to push light through 1200+mm of salt water and still grow corals
  12. Keep us informed on how you go as I'm about to embark on a setup much the same. I'm planning to have have tripplefins and shrimp in a ~160 L 700x600x400 + a refugium in a standard 2ft probably above the main tank. Have the two tanks and skimmer just have to empty the 160 L of fresh water and move my 430L native freshwater back inside. This is the advice I was given on another forum:
  13. Mark (LivingArt) would be the best bet for native marine info, I'm sure that he'll show up at some time...
  14. Most of us collect from the wild. I have seen banded kokopu, inanga and redfin bullies for sale in world of water. If you put your location in your profile someone might be willing to give you a have and collect something for you. What sort of tank doe you have/looking at and what sort of live stock were you wanting?
  15. There are kokopu in the creek behind the historic village - have seen them in the daytime, and you can pop in and hassle mark.
  16. I doubt any bacteria could really get established in the time it takes to run the cube under the tap for 30 sec and then to re-freeze about 1 ml. Human food is a bit different when it may take 3-5 hours or more to defrost and then another 3 -5 to re-freeze it.
  17. no don't have many, hardly any atm. any pond/trough/road side drain should produce some to get you going
  18. meeting is tonight: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=60756
  19. I don't even think my ISP gives out email address
  20. I top up my Daphnia pond with tank water that often has salt in it at about 50-100* the strength that you salted the water. Not seen any problems but I'm looking close as I'm not catching/using them atm.
  21. we are talking MTS here so no eggs, just new miniature snails
