i think it maybe the size of the water change as i had the same thing happen to me after a large water change and they were the only ones effected lost about 5..
what about a massive terrarium with amazon fish in the bottom and heaps of logs and tropical plants growing above, oh also for good measure put some carnivorous plants as well, ie monkey cups, venus fly traps etc?
You know what its like when ya feeling really sick and ya have people fussing over you asking can i do this can i do that when all you really want is to be left alone to rest? i suspect that's what Mr Discus wants just time left to be to acclimatise and settle in and all the fussy may just be stressing him more? My big ones done the same thing when i got them but all eventually settled in.
I havnt used grapevine but i are currently useing some sort of vine i brought from a lfs and it looks great in my amazon tank although i did notice for a while some type of jelly stuff coming out of the wood which i was able to just pic it off. So i would think grapevine would be fine good luck.
Hey just wandering if there is anyone in hamilton who would like to take some pics of my discuss tank? Either me or my camera are inadequate in that they always come out blurry.Anyway if anyone could it would be apreciated.
P.S not sure if this was the right place to post so if not sorry in advance.
If it was me i would use a piece of perspex as the devider and cut a hole in it small enough for her so if he get agressive she can escape to the other side leaving him stuck on the other this way she can come and go as she pleases and if they do spawn then just remove the male?
i use one on my heavily planted 4.5 ft tank and have no problems at all.infact my plants do very well and i have no other form of filtration.
It makes sense to me as firstly the warm water is drawn down through the gravel and roots and secondly the fish waste is also drawn down to the roots of the plants.
