  1. Might as well go to work.
  2. I've just gotten home and... My computer won't boot(It finally has after about 20 tries), any computer I've ever had seems to do this after leaving it off for more than a few days. The heater in my fish tank died, they're down to 17° but everyone seems alive, no idea how long it's been off. Several of the lights in the house have burned out. There is dirty laundry scattered around the house, not sure where it came from. And there is cat spew on the bed. :an!gry
  3. I've always heard "Millions snail" referring to the common pond snail. These below... Not the cinnabun ramshorn snails like these...
  4. I'd be buying new heaters every week or two if I did that. I don't think I've ever had a heater that didn't have moisture in it. They've all lasted for years. I even had one that would have boiling water at the bottom end of it, still worked fine.
  5. I'm not surprised he didn't know the name of the cichlid, because it's not.
  6. Sounds like ramshorns. Pretty sure they're, relatively, less invasive. I've never had any luck with them when I've introduced them and tried to breed them.
  7. As long as the panes aren't broken, it should be ok. But I agree, it sounds like a pain. If it is the panes then I'm guessing somewhere around $800. Our single pane one was $400 iirc.
  8. The only reason to avoid copper is for the few fish that are sensitive to it or if you ever plan to make the tank a reef. You're obviously going to take them out before this(I hope) so what's the point? Also, I'm skeptical of the plants handling it well.
  9. Duckweed is great stuff. Shame it's so delicate though.
  10. This is me after the last, "My goldfish is pregnate!" post...
  11. Didn't think it felt that bad, more than enough to get your attention...But I didn't think it was worth running around screaming, "Get in the doorway Ira, Get in the doorway!" "Oh, alright...Oh, wait it's over." :slfg:
  12. Long ago...*Checks* yup, before I was born qualifies.
  13. Halogens are far less efficient than fluoros or metal halides so I'd expect more brightness from a similar wattage. But the lighter background in the LED pic makes me suspicious. What was your shutter speed, iso and aperature settings for both? Comparing the brightness using photos is worse than useless without those all being identical.
  14. Chemically chocolate would be considered a mixture or a solution. There is no single chocolate molecule. Maybe if you were to react carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, another carbon, another oxygen, lanthanum, and tellurium... That would get you C-H-O-C-O-La-Te

    Voltage input

I don't believe they have power adapters.
  16. You can do all of the above. So, what do YOU want to do?
  17. Heh, what happened? I can set up some people as ops so they can kick and ban people, but given that there are so rarely people in there it seems a bit of a waste of time.

    Voltage input

I believe none are. Most electric motors like that run directly off the mains. A lot of electronics run through a power supply that converts the mains AC into the appropriate lower DC voltages that it wants. The power supplies automatically adjust to deal with different voltages. Running the filter on twice the voltage it's designed for will make it do the same as if you plugged a 110v lightbulb into 220v. It will get really bright for a fraction of a second then it will explode.
  19. People clean the glass outside of their tanks? I don't. Well, Once or twice a year I might wipe it with a damp cloth if it's convenient. So, far more often than I clean the inside of the glass.
  20. Waterlogged wants to sex and age LBB, everyone saw you say it!
  21. A horse doesn't naturally walk around with a person on its back, cows don't normally get milked by something other than calves... :slfg:
