    Heater spikes

Like alan says, sounds like normal hysteresis. May help to increase circulation a bit, but I wouldn't worry about it. it's not a big change and it likely is over a few hours anyway. A what?
  3. We had a big earthquake last night too! Haha, 2.9, but it was about 4 km away from our house. I never felt a thing about 30km away.
  4. Is another krib going to sneak in and fertilize them after she lays them?
  5. Looks like a definite case of bloat/dropsy.
  6. Most ponds don't. They get away with low stocking levels and plants.
  7. Need? None. So anything better than that will be good. Anything like 1000LPH or so would probably be good for some circulation, run a fountain, etc.
  8. Paintbrush or roller and lots of ventilation would be my guess. Black pond paint probably.
  9. Cans as tank decoration? heh, From Deuce Bigalow...
  10. I don't see any obvious reasons why not. It says it's pressurised so it shouldn't leak and static head height won't be an issue, just like any normal cannister filter. You'll just need to add maybe $150 for a good pump onto it. But then you're close to the cost of a good cannister anyway.
  11. I had a healthy looking big common plec, I was watching him swim around a little then he stuck to the glass front of the tank. Stuck there for a minute then let a massive shower of bubbles out of his mouth, his stomach caved in, he slid backwards down the glass until his tank hit. Tipped over on his back and never moved again. Dead.
  12. I can't remember the eheim model off the top of my head, but it sounds like the one you're thinking of is a pretty common one. Should work well, leaves you with a little bit of extra flow off the return to plumb into running the any skimmer and other gear. I went with a Laguna PJ5000 on mine because it was something like 1/3 the price and twice the flow. I never found pump noise to be noticable, it was far drowned out by the water flowing into the overflow and down into the sump.
  13. Maybe. Probably could have been too much of a shock for him. Guppies die if you happen to use the wrong tone of voice as you walk past the tank.
  14. Why did you eat the baby spew that you have for comparison? What did she do wrong with it? I don't think there's much you can do to screw up lemon and sugar.
  15. They made a book from the movies?
  16. They wouldn't be much worse off than a lot of goldfish in ponds over winter.

    Hmmmm

The most common anticaking agent, and the one in this salt... If that's going to hurt your fish then you better hurry up and take them out of your fish tank and get rid of any of that toxic substrate in your tank. It's silicon dioxide, aka silica, aka sand, aka glass, aka about the most non toxic material on the planet.
  18. Pond pump, jam a hose onto the outlet or rig up an adapter with fittings from the hardware store. You don't need an inline pump. Just drop the pump into the container.
  19. They might be ok in it, but it's definitely cramped. If your big worry is the male chasing the female around there definitely wouldn't be any room for her to get away.
  20. What is this wall calendar you speak of? I just checked my facebook wall, I don't see any calendar app. Am I missing something?
  21. For what I've tried to use them for I always found them absolutely useless. Don't flow very much, clog almost instantly and are only useful for fry tanks. Maybe I used the wrong ones.
  22. Depends on what you're using it for? Best use for them, imo, is as a doorstop. They're annoying, noisy, useless buzzy things.

    P.H ?

And phosphoric acid. Increase the ph and make the water harder.
