I agree with the nymox. Something like Daltons aquatic soil then maybe twice that depth of gravel. Then add fish and water.

I agree with Stella's wash, put. Actually, I would skip the wash part if some of these were on the rock: Lateria Neritoides, endemic to the north island only. One of or the only bioluminescent freshwater snails.

I found I liked a couple low power blue leds better than something more powerful like a fluoro. The blue has a more moonlight coloration to it the leds are a better point source so you get the pretty shimmering effect.

I need to get a big variety of plants and see what works in my tank. I've been waiting since, let's see...February for someone who said she'd send me some*Cough*Zev*Cough* :slfg: I don't get to any pet shops that have plants often, all the ones at Animates when I went last time were half dead looking.

Some of us also eat pizzas, steaks, cheeseburgers, veggies... I probably would. If that's what people want that's what I'll sell them. Fish stores/pet shops aren't exactly high profit businesses, trying to make the world a better place is a great idea but made much more difficult by bankruptcy.

Best I could come up with. I can't remember the last time I had algae on the glass. It's been probably 7-8 years since I used an algae magnet.

Only tends to be children because as you grow so do your eustachian tubes.

I haven't used it, seems expensive but not bad for an LED setup. Not very efficient, 39 lumens/watt vs around 60-70 for an average metal halide and similar for fluoro tubes. Should be fine for a low light or small marine tank. The blues probably won't be ideal for a FW tank which generally don't use as blue lighting.

Because they have really hard shells and have been known to break puffer teeth which are stronger and harder than anything a loach has.
