  1. Don't really know where this fits, but I am asking if there is any public places people can catch live food (mozzie larvae, daphnia, boatmen etc) in the Auckland are? I usually catch mine from a pond at a friends farm, but due to the summer sun, its drying up.
  2. What do you use the R4 for? Owned my ds for ages but never heard of it.
  3. Are you using the wild females aswell? Liking the Green on the middle offspring pic
  4. Well, they say that Mod=Warren: Implied swearing removed happens
  5. how long are you hatching them for and what sort of water are you using? I have had good results using sea water.
  6. They usually have Dageti, Golden Australe, Chocolate Australe, Blue Gardneri, at least. There might still be some albino Gardneri in another tank.
  7. Hi Barrie, thats why I was wondering if I was overfeeding them. The females are pretty fat, but the male is normal size. Just thought that maybe I was feeding them too much, even though they hunt for themselves.
  8. I have a trio of King Killies and was wondering if I am overfeeding them. They are about 7cm at the moment and I usually put about 20 large boatmen in with them, and repeat when they have all gone. (takes them about a day and a half to get through them) I dont think that the boatmen have much nutritional value, and the fish get plenty of exercise chasing them around. Also I give them a cube of bloodworms once a week to share with the kuhli's that are with them. Would it be considered overfeeding?
  9. man I must be sad... 3.23am
  10. sorry to take the thread in another direction, but do you have pics of your gold ribbon fin Guppys?
  11. Animates - same old, each store is similar, carry the same stocks. Hollywoods - wide range, only 2 stores, but employees are pretty knowledgeable Pupuke - Average range, but exceptional 1 on 1 service.
  12. it's the boatmen. I feed my King Killies boatmen all the time.
  13. Last CD I got was Nickleback - Dark Horse
  14. Your orange tailed snakeskin is called a flamingo. It's a strain I am working on at the moment.
  15. Does anyone else have problems with the "remember me" function? I hit the tick every time I log on, and my computers firewall allows and keeps the cookies for this site, but I have to log in everytime I come here. Is there a reason for this?
  16. need... more... tanks... (says the guy with 5 empty at the moment)
  17. Geeze you're eager! You can't breed similar families of fish because they will cross breed. Hybrids are no good. The other thing is, what would you do with heaps of baby fish? When it comes to killies, there isn't a huge market for them in NZ. As for a breeding group, I guess as much as your tank will safely accomidate. But in realitly, (an exaggerated example) what would be the point of say 25 females to two males, producing at least 50 eggs a day, 350 eggs a week, 350 fry to feed in a couple of weeks, minus deaths from pollution etc, you would have around 250 fish to try and re-home.
  18. Your link says that the pic is stolen Cornflower blue, steel blue and blue are common I think.
  19. freaky, we have only lived at our house for a few months, and I can even see our other car parked outside. hmmm.... Mr Google drove past on a wet day. Whoa, I am at work... at least my car is there... FREAKY! lol
  20. Maybe sandpaper or a scotch-brite would take it off, then I can send you to Barrie On a serious note, I can supply some a 50/50 mix of IPA and "glaze-away" if you want to give that a try. If it can move printing ink, it can move anything. Also the IPA evaporates any residues etc.
  21. I dont know if it is just me, but I'm a person who doesn't like to be bugged the moment I walk into a store. I prefer to be given the chance to come in and browse before being greeted and asked if I needed help. Being talked to the moment you walk into a store sorta makes you feel like you are obligated to buy something straight away. On the other hand, other sorts of shops its good to have someone near the door to help those who are after something specific quickly.
  22. Prints 15,000 740x510mm sheets per hour. Imagine how many A.W's you could print at once.... We do have a big Konica that will do everything and spit out finished books.
