  1. just seemed too good to be true. Saves cycling for 2-3 weeks.
  2. I was wondering if anyone has used "startsmart" before? I saw it on the shelf in my lfs. It says it cycles the tank instantly eliminating ammonia and nitrites.
  3. Jack Wattley has red passion discus. So it is possible. Maybe someone need to import some over. 8)

  6. It's hard to be "different" these days. There's a nice red forester on trademe. Or there's legacy rs's, Dc5 tegs, tezza's, Airtrek turbo 4wd If happy with a 2001 car, there's a 2001 AC schnitzer BMW(14k) and a 2001 300gt skyline
  7. I chucked a guppy in with my australe and it got hammered. I used to have them with bitaneatum though. So it depends on the killi and their attitude.
  8. Affo-simeon and ummm..... so jess....damnit, SJO!!!!
  9. that's why they are so addictive....
  10. I once had a 1988 VX Landcruiser turbo, definitely one of the best towing 4wds IMO. Infact it was so good I brought a 1998 VX Landcruiser non-turbo, but was guttered because of the lack of power compared. Still have the 88 and doing rust repairs to get it back on the road. $80 of diesel will last about 600km, the new one should be better due to the lack of turbo. Brand-wise, I swear by toyota for reliability and they take whatever you can throw at them.
  11. My ones growth is noticable daily, even hourly sometimes. I once came back to see a stem had grown 4-5cm in about 3 hrs. Anyone know if you can get stronger lights for the AR380?
  12. unfortunately no. I was only a beginner when I had them. Tried spawning 3 or 4 times, got eggs, but no wrigglers. Dad was pretty aggressive and ate some. If I had known what I do now, I would have raised the eggs myself. Dad was a nice Black Orchid (black and green) and I think the giant girl I had was blue.
  13. If I keep trimming back the leaves that go to the surface, will it still flower?
  14. HFF Mt Roskill had some HUGE boys delivered yesterday. They are like the giant plakats I used to breed. http://s99.photobucket.com/albums/l282/ ... V02461.flv
  15. I dont have a pic, but heaps of bottles standing upright on the bottom of the tank with holes in the bottles made with a soldering iron.
  16. Coke bottles is the way to go, unless you want individual containers and to water changes on them all twice a day.
  17. If my memory serves me right, they also had Betta Simorum in at one time. I don't know what happened to them, and don't know if they are still around. (but would like to know now that I have the tankspace ) Also, I thought I had taken a pic of my claret bettas when I had them, but if I did it must be on my folks computer. (it's been a while since owning them)
  18. HFF Mt Roskill had them, as I said, it was a while ago and dont know if they will be able to get more in. (may pay to update your profile with your location)
  19. I think it was about a year or so ago I have Betta coccina. Awesome fish but very shy. Enjoyed a dark tank.
  20. If only I could sort out my oil leak  I'd bring my crx down to 'play' with your starlet, lol
  21. As far as I know the strain hasn't been developed here yet. (but I may be wrong)
  22. I got some tanks made by Tough Tanks in Henderson. Price wasn't too bad for 15 tanks.
  23. On a serious note, more plants make more hiding spots for fry swimming away from hungry mouths.
