I think as long as you talk to the landlord about it, things should be ok. Every landlord I have had has accepted that we have fishtanks. The current landlord didn't even mind us setting up 14 tanks in the shared garage. The power and water is paid by him but he said it was ok as we offered to pay $10 per week extra than what they asked. We also have a small tank inside too. I guess it depends on the sort of property you are moving into too. Our one, they dont really mind as the carpet is stuffed anyways.

I think Caper ment one of those rubber mats that stick to the inside of the bath tub. Haven't seen one in years! My Nana used to have one when we were kids because she had one of those old cast iron claw feeted bathtubs, and it was damn slippery in there, lol.

Righty, rang up the Tenancy Tribunal and they said I only have to fill out the refund form and send it into them, they send a letter out to the landlord and if there is no reply in 15 working days we get paid out. Have moved into another rental and had to borrow $1250 off my partners folks to get in with the understanding that it would be a loan for a couple of weeks at the most. Apparently couldn't get it transferred because for a week we had 2 properties. (took us a week to dismantle our fish tanks etc and re-setup and move our houseload of stuff aswell as work)

Seems that some Animates stores are doing a bit of 'spring cleaning' changing things around a bit. Hopefully for the better. Saw they have fish club specials, basically the more of a type of fish you buy, the cheaper they become per fish.

The real estate agent is the one who rented us the property, we have never met the landlord as she lives in another part of Auckland or something. So we have dealt with the real estate agent the whole time. (she isn't the property manager on this property, just finds tenants) During the year that we were there, we never had any inspections etc and when we were thinking of moving out, we contacted the real estate agent and sussed it out with her, she came and inspected and was please with the state of the house etc and understood why we wanted to move. (unhealthy living conditions - everytime it rained it soaked through the concrete deck of the flat upstairs and 'rained' in our lounge, also black mould grew on every concrete surface - most of the house) The Landlord reckons she didn't know we had moved out and hadn't even noticed that our rent payments had stopped. I have told her that in order to get our new place we had to borrow money for another bond and letting fee etc and now we really need to pay the money back.

My partner and I moved out of out rental property on the 7th of July. We still haven't recieved the bond back as the landlord hasn't sent in the bond refund even after us calling her etc, she reckons she has been a bit busy lately to get around to it. The realestate agent has been through and checked the house etc but the landlord wants to do it herself now. We have been really patient, but I think it's a bit off when we have been waiting two months for the refund now. The question I have is How long is a reasonable time to wait before contacting the "higher authorities"?

take the female out and leave the male in there for 1 day, then put the female back in on day 2, but only in a clear container. Let her out just before lights out on day 2, they should spawn in the morning of day 3 or that afternoon. Feed the female more than you would normally during the three days, maybe 2 - 3 feeds of bloodworms per day. Also you are looking for dark vertical stripes, not the 2 horizontal stripes that scared females get. Hope that helps a bit.

I have a pair in a tank to clean up the bloodworms my fighters dont eat. Cool fish, not keen on the light though. Mine are in a dark tank with black substrate. Have seen some bury themselves in some substrates but mine must be a little too sharp for them. They're about 8cm long at the moment. Seen the female full with green eggs at times.
