Does anyone have any experience in giving their well endowed livebearers the snip? I have a nice lyretailed sword I wish to breed from but I am a bit hesitant about giving him the snip. Does anyone have any tips?

Mine used to like crushed trout pellets I dont know why. They would leave it till it had soaked with water and soft before they ate it.

I am running 2 of those pumps into a large rectangle made from pvc pipe, sort of a large pressure tank. going to be running air lines off the pipe, in theory, it should have equal pressure all round. hoping to run at least 18 tanks from it.

You're right Ash, heaps of things help trigger spawning - slightly warmer water temp, a storm coming changes the air pressure and can help trigger spawning, moon cycles, luck, alsorts.

They usually breed at sun up. I used to let my pairs go together in the evenings, and in the morning or sometimes as late as 10am they would be spawning.

One thing I hate is cyclists riding side by side down the road, or in packs sometimes taking up the whole lane. I vowed the other week the next time I saw some I'd yell out the window at them, I haven't seen any since though. :evil:

I think it has something to do with peoples perceptions of the roundabout road rules. If I am going straight through, I'll indicate left after the middle of the roundabout to indicate to the people coming the opposite way that I am getting off the roundabout before passing them. I don't actually know the "exact" rules, something along the lines of indicate onto the roundabout, then indicate off or something?

I brought 20x 2.4m long 40x40 3mm box section second hand for $200 and welded this up one saturday afternoon with my dad. Definitely have to factor in the cost of welding rods and powerbill from the arc welding, a certed welder and welding gear etc. Maybe finding a welder who could weld it up for you, but asking them what they recommend for it and shop around a bit. See if you can find some second hand steel or something and make it a bit cheaper than buying brand new steel.

it is better. try some egg yolk mixed with some water and squeezed through some material. you only need a tiny bit as it can foul the water fast. Or just use microworms. Good Luck!
