  1. Sorry, was just coming back to the topic to say that he has a new owner sorted out already.
  2. Its been a while since I’ve visited the forums since I stopped keeping fish a few years ago now. I have been looking after my almost 6 year old blue tongue lizard, Sky, and now I need to find him a new home – as next year I’m going to study in Dunedin and I can’t take him and his 6 foot enclosure with me. As he has lived in a 6 foot enclosure all his life I don’t want him going to anything smaller than 4 foot. I am leaving early February so I’m looking for someone to take him any time between now until 10 February. I would like $50 for lizard only, but am open to selling his complete enclosure if anyone is interested, complete with stand, glass tank, ornaments, fake plants, basking rock, heat lamp, lightbulb for UV light (will need a new UV bulb soon). For complete set up and lizard I’d be wanting $500. Pick up only is near Petone, Wellington.
  3. Yesterday I found out that Margulies, my albino rainbow shark, passed away. :tears: He'd spent the last 6 months living with my sister as i've given up on keeping fish for the moment. He was one of my original fish from when I started keeping fish about 7 years ago. I'm amazed that he's survived the many tank disasters over the years. luckily I visited him over the new year break. One last photo of him
  4. Thanks everyone. We first thought it was a paua, but Scutus antipodes seems like it fits better.
  5. For my christmas/new years break I went on a bit of a trip around part of the north island. I had christmas at Castle Point then went to Auckland, and out to Leigh and Murawai Beach, then down to Tauranga/ Te Puke and over to Hamilton. Over this time I took more than 1 thousand photos so the ones below are a small percentage of them. Castlepoint Early morining sun, christmas day This was found at Matacona beach near castle point. For scale look at the hand, not the body. Any ideas on what it is? (the paua shell in hand was not related) Auckland Zoo Galapagous Tortoise These were taken at Auckland Zoo's new NZ section (very impressed with it) A Rough Gecko Weka Kea flying Tiritiri Matangi Island Takahe Saddleback North Island Robin Reptile park A little gecko Murawai Beach My sister found this skink on the beach, anyone know what species it is? At Hamilton Zoo Tapirs Little Owl
  6. thats looks way better than just grayscale!
  7. Thanks I also took this dove photo: But I can't decide whether I prefer it in colour or black and white - Opinions??
  8. I went to staglands yesterday. Had a great time! Thought i'd share some photos: Kaka 1 of 5 kune kune piglets Rabbit Budgie in the walk through avairy Guniea fowl calling Peacock Water (yesterday was the first day that i've tried to do these sort of pics) Goat
  9. That was my point. I think it makes more sense to feed a frog than a mouse to an arowana (I do realise that henward isn't thinking of feeding mice)
  10. To me it makes more sense to feed an arowana an aquatic animal than feeding it a land animal, like a mouse. (not that i'd do either)
  11. Heres my two enclosures: Sky's 6 feet enclosure (Bluey) Southern Bell Frogs set up:
  12. Sky is about 1.5 years old and going through her first brumation. She started not getting out of bed around the end of May, so I started decreasing the temperature. Last night she got up! could this mean that she wants a shorter brumation, or is it normal for blueys to get up during brumation? She had a drink so i took some pics:
  13. My pets: Firefly (who had just had abcess surgery the day before taking this photo) Firefly's brother, Dragonfly 2 of my 3 frogs (Eden and Echo) Sky, my bluey
  14. Once you put the details in & pay, a ticket is emailed to you that you can print out and then show to the bus driver.
