+1.... If the best place in the world requires the average person to rely on welfare then I'd hate to be most other places... but then again the "financial" side of that report was mainly for overseas investors... "here, come buy our stuff, mainly cuz the locals can't afford it"

if your gonna use that then definitely do a few practice holes first, and also work out some way of getting a slow but constant supply of water on the cut to keep it cool or else it overheats and cracks. oh and if your using a combi drill, make sure you have the "hammer" function turned off :facepalm:

I've always avoided the light coloured wood just in case its pine (which can supposedly poison the tank) and also as its lighter and sinks slower its normally not wort the effort. take a saw with you and hack off nice looking roots from the massive logs that wash up. (you know the logs that make you wish you had a 6m x 4m tank..... or is that just me??) -
I haven't used Cycle much, but normally, its best to add your first fish with your Cycle dose to provide the ammonia for the cycle to establish properly. (not your full stocking, just a couple of smaller fish)

for drilling glass you need a special diamond tipped glass drill, probably cheaper to pay someone to do it than buy the bit, unless you plan on doing LOTSA holes

plus melafix is more antimicrobial than anti fungal

unfortunately their current method is to get one of the new volunteers to inject them , they normally do a big run at a time. a baseball bat would probably be quicker, cheaper and just as humane, but the volunteers are normally already reduced to a mess after it...

the shops just call it what the importers call it, I"m sure if I ordered some of one importer and some off another importer I would get different fish.... had a strange looking one the other day that was a brick red colour and the spots were in unusual patterns.

Oxygen weed does best in VERY cold water thats constantly moving, many pet stores chuck it in the fridge as it tends to rot in too warm conditions. also LOTS of light, direct sunlight all day would be best if you can do it,

very well said. definitely do your research, its better for you to set up your sump by saying "this goes here because it does this because of this and helps this do this" than "I put that there cuz the picture said so"

are you planning a fish or fishless cycle?? if this is for your goldfish, I would recommend a live bacteria solution just to give you a bit of a safety margin (goldfish are mucky buggers)

have a look round for ornamental foggers, they do the same thing, just less expensive, just make sure you get one that you can get replacement anode disc's for easily

had 2 tanks blow out in one week.... only just noticed that half of the tanks are not supported fully underneath.... oh well.... currently attempting to rebuild them, and afterwards applying plasters to all my glass cuts.....

I created a high current zone by putting a internal filter (Aquaone Maxi 101 ) on its side near the bottom and arranging stones around an area to make a circular current they seem to love it, but the guppies in with them dont get knocked around too much (except if they try to steal the pleco chip off the suckers)
