    imo (just from what ive seen) anything Big is a girl, anything small is a boy, take the smallest ones and if you want a girl they will turn into one.

    tanks a bit small for the majority of the SA/CA cichlids, but (im gonna cop some flak here) there is no reason not to consider some african species as well, most of them are being bred in more acidic water anyways so you don't need any super high pH for them. also Lionhead cichlids!!!! ugly but cute, You will fall in love

    lol, finally made my blue tounge run yesterday, it was for a Cicada, easy to catch (ask your local kids to bring them to you, beware though, if you offer 10c each you will be poor very quickly, offer 1c each and they seem to come in at a steady rate)

    ummmm, by doing threads like this before we have found good homes for abused fishies., I concede the point about removing the TM username, but think if we are all aware of this then hopefully some one with a few spare $$$ can save the poor little guys. very useful thread imo and we should keep doing them

    just sold a little girl out of one of my tanks, approximately 6-7cm, never noticed her before, she had as much red on her than that but not quite as much blue/green could have been the light, but a real stunner anyways. (never noticed her before, normally only the smaller girls show themselves off in that tank)

    every female in berry i've had has died. i'd recomend returning any large females back into the River you found them in.

    harsh is fun.... btw, don't hate the first tank, quite like it, just giving criticism. second tank however i really hate, looks like a vegan poo. and also it looks obviously trimmed, not natural at all

    can someone find the clause stating that if it has been in the country before a certain date they are considered for addition.... this fish is 7-10 years old (and stunning and playfull etc.....)

    Aqua one produces a good quality flexi pipe, most petstores can order it in, some garden centers may have it already

    Have done a heap of searching on this and the Final ID I have from the Auckland city council is that it is Myriophillum variifolium. Common sold as Hippuris vulgaris (Which is supposedly uknow in NZ waters) although the supplier has his ID from the biosecurities officer so...
