  1. Maybe because nothing has changed since 2010 they don't feel the need to update it.
  2. Yay. :bggrn: :bggrn: :bggrn: Any pictures of the lucky parents?
  3. It is a nice looking tank, but that is far excessive an amount for that tank though. If I was the one that was in charge of getting in installed I would want any contractors to be giving more itemised accounts.

    Rare

We don't get many rare catfish apart from pleco's. You can't get gulpers or shovel nose in NZ.
  5. Welcome. You look like you are good at your wood work there.
  6. Been watching it the last few weeks, is very enjoyable.
  7. - Does your water contain chlorine?NO - Do you use a dechlorinator? No - Do you know where your water comes from, if so do you know the average levels (eg residual chlorine) in your water supply? The sky. 0 - Does your use of dechlorinator change based on the "maturity" of the tank?NO
  8. Congratulation's. :happy2: :happy2:
  9. Welcome. Hope to see you at an afka meeting at some stage.
  10. Cool photo's. Your corals are looking very healthy.
  11. I dose excel, and it has never adversely effected my indian fern.
  12. I find my jack dempsy tough, but it spends most of its time 'hiding' in the plants. 250L isn't big enough for any of the larger cichlids like I have got, but it would be fine for a convict cichlid, or a pair of convicts. Convicts are very aggressive when they have young, and are known to chase off much larger fish to protect them. Red Devils would get to large.
  13. What size is your tank? Essentially that is the biggest limiting factor of what you can keep. As for the aggressive cichlids from what I have read you can either keep one (or a pair), or keep them in a larger group to spread the aggression finely, but that requires a very large tank. I keep Jack dempsey, oscar, and jag in my big tank as cichlids, with other fish to help distract them from each other.
  14. Welcome. Hopefully you haven't been to disappointed by the range of reptiles that you can get in NZ.
  15. No, the oscar (biggest fish in the tank) is the pansy. The JD stands up to the jag most of the time, they are more or less the same size at the moment.
  16. Nope, occasionally the jag digs a pit disturbing some of the roots, but all the swords are so thoughaly rooted in that they aren't easy to up root.
  17. Yup, it is one of my 3 banjo's, am wanting to get more. Very cool fish, spend most of there time berried, but come up at night and at feeding time.
  18. Been a while since I have shared pictures of my fish, so here is a small update.
