  1. Get yourself a Watt meter from the warehouse, it will give you a full understanding of how much each tank is using. Poly any sides that you can and then put lids on as well.
  2. I am using 250 micron polythene for my pond. It is a lot bigger then your one, 300m2 (roughly) but the concept is the same. Your can get the polythene in 4 m wide sheets so you can do a small pond with out having to join the liner. If you need to join the liner, go to a farm supply store and buy the tape that is used for fixing bailage bale rips and tears. It has held my parents polythene pond together for the passed 10 years.
  3. A rather spectacular and pricey tropical tank. Looks very good in the flesh. Not sure where the $56 000 went though. http://www.odt.co.nz/news/dunedin/324898/56000-spent-ward-fish-tank
  4. Thanks for the info Caryl, will give some of the companies a call and find out. Need to make a bridge so some recycled power poles would look pretty cool. Thanks again.
  5. Does anybody know what happens to the old wooden power poles that get replaced around the country?
  6. I have two of these units over my 650L tank and they are great. Great colours and everything has come through the acclimatisation process, not that i have a lot in the tank at the moment. I really like the look, the lower power bills and the fact the fans only come on when they run at 100% on both channels.
  7. Hey Everyone, Has any dealt with "ajcreativeglass" from CHCH, they list tanks one TM and keen to get one made by them but would like peoples thoughts if they have dealt with them before. Cheers
  8. I am in IT as well, i think there is a few of us out there.
  9. Also this place is a good place to get stuff as well http://www.farmingdirect.co.nz/
  10. I have two a little bigger then that, lots of bugs and some bird poo as well i think. Ah the joys of rain collection
  11. Always good to replace but if you dont want to get a small (10mm) glass hole saw bit and kill the crack by drilling a hole at the end then cover with a pane of glass.
  12. Looks awesome David Just a quick question, what type of steel/thickness did you make the stand out off?
  13. Hello Everyone, I took some photos of the flooding that has been happening down my way in Mosgiel. Crazy amounts of water have flooded through our paddocks and have circled the house. We were woken up at 6:45 this morning to my father honking his horn. My house - Backyard Front Yard, Driveway Paddocks Here are some photos that i took on Wednesday when it flooded as well, the smaller stream is Silver stream in Mosgiel and the very impressive one is the Taieri River, the last photos are of the catchment area on the Taieri. Dogs enjoying the water Tomorrow it is the clean up and hopefully everything is all right.
