  14. I have heard that unwanted c/d's tied in a manner that lets them flap in the wind make good deterrents for birds... failing that, how bout a hyperactive border collie?
  15. There is an aviary full of them at Animal Antics in Mt Maunganui - bit far away tho!
  16. There had been no action in my tank for months. I then added a BN breeding log (a fake log with one end blocked off) I went away for the weekend - when I got back daddy bristles was fanning eggs... No Barry White or poofy candles in my house!

  19. FUNNY! Unfortunately, moving all other fish isn't an option - there is a lot of drift wood and plants tho. I am off on holiday for a couple of weeks so the little guys are gunna have to fend for themselves, :-? hopefully when I return in 2 weeks there will be some left. If not I will reconsider where which tank I have the log & BN family in.
  20. Thanks BB - I can't seem to get onto photobucket at the mo so can't post pics
  21. :bounce: I have my first bunch of bristle babies! My boss went to Australia a couple of weeks back and as a gift got me a Bristlenose Breeding Log. I was quite chuffed that they got me a gift and promptly put it in my tank... after seeing nothing but the tail end of my large BN sticking out of it for the past week or so, I saw that he finally came out to eat this morning - I got me little torch out and took a peek. Inside was a bunch of tiny miniature BN's - soooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute! These are my first babies. After seeing FireFish's pics I am hoping the GBA's will be next! Her pics are amazing! I'm off to Aussie myself at the end of the week so will keep my eyes peeled for another log for the goldies. Pity I am going to miss the little bubba's coming out - hope there are still some there when I get home! Can anyone tell me - Do I need to provide them with any special food? At what stage will they come out foraging for food? Thanks in advance
  22. wow! what an amazing picture! Well done Firefish, :bounce: they look wikid!
