I too have used JBL Filter Start - I had really good results - No ammonia spike - I tested every alternate day for about 5-6 weeks. It really did start it cycling almost immediately.

I have never entered competitions of this nature - Do you just enter an end result pic or a series of pics of the set up? I think it would be quite interesting to see a series from empty tanks thru to fully planted - what is the norm?

Thanks for the lovely photos Chin. Some spectacular guppies! But I especiallylLove the sailfin Mollies... anyone know anyone with some of those looking for new homes?? I currently have a gold and a silver male - would love a black and some females

I hear what you are saying Caryl but I think you will find that it takes you to a complete list of "Risk Phrases" - A link that is used by all substance's that you reference from this site - the number 10 is the rating melaleuca has been assigned as a risk and number 16 is the safety phrase.

hmmm.... I clicked on the link and took a look out of concern. I am little confused (not hard to confuse JJ!) Under risk statements it says #10 - when you click on this it tells me #10 is "highly flammable" Then under safety statement is has #16 which when you click on it referrs to "keep away from sources of ignition, no smoking" The way I read it, all of the other alarming stuff doesn't seem to pertain to Melaleuca - Am I wrong?

:bounce: I made the trip to Barries to check out a master in his own "office" Thank You Barrie - I really appreciate your help and for sharing how you successfully raise these beautiful fish. Check out your progeny in their new homes (Barries was very generous and let me have some P82 & Bitaeniatum The Kuhli Loaches are not so keen on their new room mates tho! They are spending more time in the fern these days! Whilst I was there Barries wife very nicely let her white pigeons out for some exercise - What a remarkable sight!
