  1. It was the Rock Artist Black Stones... I think the gravel syphon scuffed the paint off
  2. When I set up my big tank (over 12 months ago!) I made the poor choice of putting black coloured stones in - Looked pretty good for the first few weeks then the pain started to peel off. Resulting in stink gravel that looked like this... I have been promising myself for quite sometime now to change the gravel but haven't. I bit the bullet yesterday and did it... Looks soooooooooooooo much better! Should have done it ages ago!! The clowns have been so happy all day. Can anyone tell me if that Flying Fox is a bit fat? Or is that how big they are sposed to be? When I get him he was lovely and slim, NOT FOR LONG! The discus were nice to me and didn't cark it!!
  3. Who has all the pics? Would love to see some - shame I was in Gizzy encouraging my Woofer to jump over jumps an stuff. Sounds like I missed a great conference!
  4. The afzelii is fine and growing well - the spots are appearing on the nana. When I google it some places say that the slow growers store iron and an excess can cause dead spots... others say it's a lack of iron... some say the light is too intense... Leaving me confused! Do I up the iron, down the light or get rid of the dam plant!!
  5. I have brown spots (dead areas not algae) forming on my anubias leaves - is there a nutrient lacking?
  6. I agree BigBoss - The seaview adhesive that is put out for this purpose looks & feels like KY Jel. Def makes a huge difference with the backgrounds... all you guys rolling on the ground laughing clearly have some at home, try it!
  7. I would be a little concerned that the danios would nip at the guppy's tails.
  8. I read in an article in a TFH magazine that if you paint the leaves of anubius plants with a plant based natural antiseptic it will prevent algae growth (or at least slow it down) It didn't really indicate how often you need to do this but I guess it's worth a try?
  9. This has to be one of the best books that you can get! https://www.fishpond.co.nz/product_info ... 0793805709

  13. Thanks - yes that makes sense... There is some Aponogeton Undulatus on Trademe and just wanted to make sure it not the same thing as Cryptocoryne Undulatus as I already have that one.
  14. Is Aponogeton Undulatus the same thing as Cryptocoryne Undulatus?
  15. Can you tell me what the leafy ferny looking plant is in the middle at the front?

  18. Is pogostemon helferi a plant that is available in NZ? Does anyone have it?
  19. :happy2: Well it ain't on mine, harden up Far out 2l! That would have a pretty price tag I'm sure. I just get the lil 100ml bottle. AND I prob don't use it often enough so this time I got some Flourish Tabs also in hope that the plants may have a more constant access to the nutrients. Why haven't you needed it lately?
  20. Sorry! Used to texting... Bet you feel better now that you have corrected me! :happy1: (whats with that!) So - I will now keep it in the fridge and make sure I shake it before use. Thanks guys.
  21. OH! perhaps my old bottle was just that... OLD! I just got a new bottle and it a completely different colour! Thort something was wrong wif the new bottle - didn't occur to me it would be the old bottle wif the prob. Should these be kept in the fridge?
  22. Can I please ask those of you using this product - please can you tell me what colour it is... Is is the colour of strong black tea? Or blacker? So black that you can't see thru it. Thanks
  23. Yeah it is a risk you take when you buy them little - it just made Discus affordable for me but I do feel a bit stink that one doesn't get to grow well.
