Thanks.
I have lost several Apisto's, some with similar symptoms. The day before I was going to give my mate my male Agassizi, it also died :dunno: Apisto's seem to be a little like that....
She pics the spawning site. Mine spawned in the leaf litter but subsequent spawns were in bamboo pipes like this one my Mcmasteri spawned in...

That would have to be the most red coloured female I have ever seen.... I had around 50 females from one spawn and there wasn't one anywhere as red as that one.
Yellowish black to a very palish orange are the one's I have seen but it is hard to tell from your pics...
Thanks Luke. But after destroying the tank and only catching 1 fish after about 10 minutes, I gave up and left them in there. Any fry, if any, would have been eaten.
Will have to devise a better setup.....

Here is a useful one.. http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=45724&p=496903&hilit=cotton+wool#p496903
This morning I noticed a number of eggs on the bottom of my breeding tank.
On trying to remove the breeders I basically destroyed the tank.
Can anyone advise on an effective method on trying to catch these guys? Thanks.
I kept a couple as a kid... We fed them on very small worms. Great to watch. They would appear only moments after dropping the worm in the water. Greatest sense of smell.
While working for a local council I remember seeing literally thousands of these small eels making their way up an outlet pipe from an oxidation pond.
