    Bloodworms?

I have some in my outside daphnia tank.
  2. I'm in Frankton. PM me if you want some.
  3. Sure. If I can get the majority to maturity I should have plenty to go round. As many as 70 to 80 .
  4. Here is an excellent article from Caryl.. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=13431&hilit=rummynose+breeding
  5. I will have some Apisto Macmasteri in 3 or 4 months....
  6. Well done and good luck. Here is a link to someone who had a similar problem... viewtopic.php?f=14&t=15998&p=175894&hilit=gourami+fry+feed%3F#p175894
  7. Keep in touch... AS long as I can get them to maturity, but i'm pretty confident....
  8. They are a great fish, heaps of character, but rare here in NZ. The males vary in appearance... Check out photo of the month to see a true representation of this fish. Thanks Joe!
  9. Not as nice as Agassizi's but you can see pics at this forum... viewtopic.php?f=13&t=51150
  10. Are you talking Agassizi's? All Agassizi's I have seen are double reds. I have some 3 day old Macmasteri's that will be for sale in 4 to 5 months, fingers crossed.
  11. Excuse the pics but (glass is badly stained).
  12. Thanks all. Sorry Joe, all I can tell you is that the PH is around 6.5, temp is at 27 and I have been using peat soaked rain water. They are all buzzing around and appear to be eating well. I think there may well be as many as 50 to 60.
  13. I finally have some day old free swimming Macmasteri fry. Their mum is doing a good job at looking after them so will leave her with them for now. Hard to tell how many there are but there looks to be about 40ish... Will post some pics when I can.
  14. I feed my Cichlids young jumping spiders (I never take the large breeding ones), ant eggs, flies eggs and fruit fly maggots which have made their way into my microworm culture. I have always wondered about aphids. I will give them a try. Thanks for the thread.
  15. Joe. I have Terracotta pots and also bamboo pipes. Mine are currently on their third spawn and the seem to ignore the pots and spawn in the pipes. Same seems to apply to my Agassizi. If you position the pipes right you can monitor the eggs. Worth a try .

    Bugger!

Gutted for you Ryan. As per what Bilbo said. You have helped out many people over the years and it is great to see people offering fish. I can help you out with some Agassizi females if you happen to lose any of these... Good luck mate.
  17. Hey Joe. I also feed microworms now and again and also decap brineshrimp which is also small and they seem to eat both. In fact I raised my agassizi's on both of these.
  18. Your right about them not been successful Joe but it can take a few times and I'm half way there because they are spawning
  19. I Just use good old Hamilton tap water with a handfull of Oak leaves and mine have spawned in that. PH is at 7 which is not ideal but seems ok for now. Sorry to hear about your missing fish. Get them feeding on some of your tasty Daphnia. That should get them in the mood!
