  1. Joe. Try boiled egg yolk. Mix a tiny portion of yolk to a very fine paste... add water and then use a syringe and squirt it in the direction of the fry... failing that, buy some "Liquifry" from your petshop. If using egg yolk remember to use only a tiny amount as it will foul your water.
  2. Joe. Are they been eaten? or are they thin and not eating the food you are providing them?
  3. Love that pic of mum and fry Joe! And dad looking proud of himself... Good batch of fry. Well done
  4. Good work Joe. Do you still have the male in the tank?
  5. Still have 10 juveniles, but yesterday I noticed what I thought to be a small aggressive female in my main tank. She seemed to be guarding a pot, and sure enough there were eggs. There was no chance of the eggs or subsequent fry surviving long in this tank so I picked out the pot and eggs and placed them in a tank with the juveniles. I then placed her in the tank. She was frantic, searching for her lost eggs... she finally found them and is now looking after them and chasing off the juveniles... I have tried this in the past but the female has usually eaten the eggs... but time will tell, been a day and the eggs are still ok.
  6. Awesome work Joe.... Just let her be... she will find them.

    Mystery fry

My guess is goldfish... but just a guess. I have had WCMM and you can usually see the iridescent stripe from an early age.
  8. I can understand your thinking about the Apisto's Joe but I don't think you should discourage someone from attempting to breed Dwarf cichlids... My first real attempt at breeding was with these fish... Dino.. Give it a go. Read through previous threads from other members on what worked for them.. I am willing to give advice on what worked for me with previous spawnings... after all, this is what the forum is for.... Good Luck
  9. Yeah, they do smell if you keep your finger on the red button like i do! :sml1:
  10. Just use one of those electric fly rackets with low powered batteries... they work well, seems to only stun the flies, I prefer high powered batteries which make the little buggers smoke!
  11. Hey. Nice fish, but not interested in Kribs....
  12. Move the other fish and leave the fry and parents together. The more you disturb them the more likely it is for the parents to eat the fry. Well done and good luck!
  13. Found what it is. A Wool Carder Bee. Thanks
  14. This flew in my daughters window in Hamilton. Colouration of a wasp but I think a bee. Any ideas? Thanks.
  15. Finally got myself a female and have free swimming fry as of today, all 10 or 15 of them! Hopefully some females amongst this lot

  18. I think blueether should be banned for trying to undermine Joe's thread! :digH: :sml1:
  19. Hey Joe. How are your new acquisitions going?
  20. I actually didn't see a price as I was only in there briefly. But they were the most colourful ones I have seen for some time. Would love to see some pics of your veil rams once they have settled in
  21. Hey Karina. Where did you get these Rams from? I saw the nicest looking ones I have seen for ages at World of Water a couple of weeks ago, they were big too.... If I had some spare cash I would have got them.
