Yup, I'm sure. It's just slightly poking above the water now, btw.
  2. You just grab the bottom half where the intake grill is and yank it off. Or get your fingernails into the seam between the halves and pry it apart I have a few of the smaller versions of that, or very similar looking anyway.

Wow...When did I post that? About 3 hours ago and I took the pic only a few minutes before? Just looked again and the distance to the surface has gone from about 20mm to about 5. So roughly 5mm growth per hour. Should be touching the surface in an hour or two.

Don't know, just one that I went to the Hutt Pet Center and asked, "Give me one of those, one of those, one of those and one of those."
  5. You put it in the water. You plug it in. It blows water out the front. Not particularly hard to use. Just aim it where you want some water moving. Looks like you're missing some bits though, to use it as a powerhead you'll want some suction cups to stick it to the side of the tank, it should have come with a fitting that slots into the back that the suction cups mount to.

Never had any of my plants flower. Of course, I haven't really had many plants before either. :slfg:
  7. Same emotions most men do. Hungry, Horny, grumpy and bored.
  8. One of my fish had some bling. She had a tiara.
  9. that Caryl that Caryl that Caryl that Caryl that Caryl that Caryl that Caryl that Caryl that Caryl that Caryl. That was easy.
  10. They'll just have to get their own damn forearm, I'm not sharing.
  11. I don't always carry a measuring tape around for when the plec decides to sit in a convenient position. I do usually carry around my forearm though.
  12. Maybe 30cm total length if it has a long tail. My arm from finger tip to elbow is just over 40cm. (Quickest way to measure a plec on the glass, stick your arm up beside it)
  13. Yeah, mine is something like 35-40 measured to the base of his tail and he's about average, certainly not a big one.
  14. Wait, are we talking picking up some roadkill here or what? :digH:
  15. Common sense is that you've probably got better things to do than splash around in buckets full of water, fish poop and unidentifiable brown sludge. And that time usually would be better spent doing a water change if you didn't have anything else more entertaining.
  16. haha, None of my fluvals lasted long enough for the seals to wear out.
  17. I've had Brazilian puffers, I think a total of 4, iirc. I believe that dwarf puffers are roughly similar in behavior and preferences. Only one would eat flake and dried food, the others would only eat frozen or fresh meaty foods. You'd probably need a large tank for the snails to breed faster than they're eaten. Imagine a bunch of little attack helicopters hovering and darting around slaughtering snails in a 24 hour/day bloodbath...

Or Oscar! Surely that trash can is near nowhere large enough for him to live in! It's totally unsuitable for any animal his size. Slimey the worm would be happy enough in it, but he's FAR smaller.
  19. Nice fish. Interesting...I had a dream that I had a bunch of zebra plecos rolling around my house in hamster balls going "Nononononononono"
  20. Who is Professor Garrison? And, I'd say he'd need a lot more room and flow than a little tiny 7L vase, That's smaller than the average bucket. Better to let him out and either get fake plants or not have any plants at all.
  21. I've tried watching a few episodes of it. But it's totally ruined by all the drama crap. I've fast forwarded through the parts that involve the tanks and fish but end up fast forwarding about 30 minutes to watch 5 minutes worth of tanks. More hassle than it's worth.
  22. Pretty much, most all are waterborne. It's not going to totally eliminate them, you can't expose all the water to the UV at all times. It just makes it a bit less likely they'll spread.

    is this ramizeri?

Even relatively poor ones are pretty colorful. Unless you're comparing them to Bolivian rams that are similar and a lot bigger but less colorful. And they are a different species. I wouldn't really trust the name markered on the side of the tank as proof of lineage though. I think most shops just throw German on it if they decide that "Blue Ram" doesn't sound fancy enough to justify the price.

    Different common name, same fish.
