  1. Yeah, 2.5 is fine.
  2. Seems to agree with the FNZAS class thickness calculator, so i'd say yes. http://www.fnzas.org.nz/?page_id=1635

Looks like a silver mystus, need a side pic though. Hey, first google image search result for "Silver Mystus" is my tank.

I have 10 internet points on it being a redspot pleco.
  5. Well, you can't take it back now. You've already broken it.
  6. Ah, lots more hits for ohko stone. Never seen it before, I want some.
  7. Only references to dragon stone I can find are fantasy related so I'd suggest using an enchanted sword. Also there's one company that makes garden ornaments. You're not talking about pumice, are you?
  8. Best way to fix the scratches is to purchase this, apply coats of it on the glass until the scratches are no longer visible. Seriously, like blue says they'll be a lot less visible when full of water. And you'll only notice the scratches that don't disappear if they contents of the tank look like crap and you're looking for them.
  9. Huh, I had a pair of gay male gold severums. I guess gold severums are a little bit...Fancy.
  10. So, his problem is that his heater has an accuracy of +- 1 deg. Why would you replace it with a temp controller with an accuracy of +-1 deg?

    skimmer or not

Get a new pump. Yes, you can manage without a skimmer. Just like you can manage without power assisted brakes on your car...It's more work, riskier and you'll probably have worse results.
  12. I think that's probably the major factor there.
  13. Above the level of the source water. Pump location has no relevance to head height. If your intake is in the tank and the outlet is in the tank you have 0 head height.
  14. I thought the heater I disassembled once had the element in series with the light, so if the light burned out I don't think any power would get to the element. But it was one of those funny little neonlike ones. Who cares as long as the tank temp stays stable. Turn it down a little bit until it clicks off then turn it a little more. Most should have a temperature gauge on the side. Useless usually for getting an exact temp, but 2 degrees lower on the side should be close enough to 2 degrees lower water temp. Then don't dump them in the tank if the temp isn't right. No, not for something that cheap. Not worth the trouble.
  15. The new baby formula is what is used in those soylent pills that has been in the news recently.
  16. You could possibly get a bit more stable temp with the two thermostats rather than one. I'm assuming that's the issue, not lack of power to make up for the heat loss. In which case 2X200s would also help.
  17. Like from say 25-27? Yeah, I'd call that acceptable. Better circulation could help. Or good circulation and a good temperature controller might give you better precision. But that's not enough to worry about.

    piranhas

Candiru. Native to the Amazon. I'm never going near the Amazon.
  19. Just pull the clumps out by hand, which is probably most satisfying but she hates it. Or brush with this kind of thing: Never tried a furminator, but it doesn't look like it would really work much better. Certainly not the magical 1 billion percent better they seem to claim. Just the regular dog brush gets clogged up completely after a couple brushes and it has far more brushing area.
  20. No lobster for dinner then? Bugger.
  21. Expect to be executed if the boat leaks. Wait, that's North Korea.
  22. Oh come on, that's practically a requirement for everyone the first time they get their hands on one. Oooh, hey these are pretty coo*SNAP*AHGODFOCSDFOKCOOOOWWWW!!

    piranhas

I doubt it, pacu maybe. No, they're not going to risk their entire company, hundreds of thousands of dollars, however many dozens of employees jobs and possible jail time so that they can intentionally smuggle in an illegal fish just for one kid to say, "Watch them tear apart a mouse, lol!"
  24. After looking closer, the must mean each of the 10 leds in the unit is 800, which is higher than the led manufacturer's specs. Which if I'm reading the specs right, max out at 300 lumens.
