  1. Throw it in the trash where it belongs and it will be the most quiet. You don't need them as long as your filter is disturbing the surface a bit and water pumps are far quieter.
  2. It's different if you're doing it constantly. Then bacteria will build up more other places around the tank instead of in the filter. You'll just be turning it into mechanical filter not biological.
  3. It's not that I'm not all knowing and all seeing. It's just that sometimes shooting super mutants is more interesting.
  4. There are web browser plugins which will do that. Just google "exif browser plugin" and whatever your preferred browser is and that should find it.
  5. You failed to take into account how well I've trained my minions to take over from me when I'm not looking.
  6. The pots I've used, just regular plastic ones with only a few little holes in the bottom they don't seem to. But I find they at least stay put, and this way I've been able to put some good soil under them without tearing apart the whole tank.
  7. We also know that the original size was 2,025 × 1,617. And that you used a 1/40 sec exposure, F/2.8 and set at iso 100. But you probably didn't know that because you had it set on auto exposure. We know because we're watching you.
  8. I've never put a background on a tank. I figure if you're noticing the background then the foreground is too boring. :slfg:
  9. I do similar with my filters if I've done something dumb like drained enough water out that it dropped below the intake and lost its prime. Only time I ever have to do it. Though I use a hose from the kitchen tap.
  10. I have no idea what anyone of you is talking about.
  11. See, if you just suck on it until something starts coming out you don't have to keep pumping forever. If you get anything in your mouth you can spit it out. Either way everyone is happy. What? :gigl:

    Chilly Chiller

Huh, Hear all the time about heaters sticking on and cooking fish. First time I've heard of a chiller sticking on and freezing them. :-?

    My workplace tank

Definitely needs some height. Maybe just a few bits of driftwood reaching from the top to the bottom.
  14. Will probably make a measurable difference, I don't know about noticeable thought. And no it won't damage the motor.

    My Return Fish

It totally ruins the funny if I have to explain it. :an!gry Pan, latin root meaning "All" Tope, from the greek word "Topos" meaning place, as in biotope meaning the region of a habitat associated with a particular ecological community. Eon, referencing "The Pantheon" which includes the latin word "theon" meaning religion. A religious temple/place of worship in Italy dedicated to all the roman gods. Hence "The Pantopeon" which is intended to be translated as "All place religion" or in context could be considered to mean a shrine to all ecologies. Seriously, I'd have thought this didn't need any explanation. :slfg:

    My Return Fish

And Harlequins from Asia. The cories are from the amazon to go with the discus at least. I've always thought biotope type tanks too limiting anyway.
  17. My thoughts are you need to update your location, you're not actually in Nelson if you've got Amano and fire shrimp are you?
  18. Srsly? It's been, like a month, you have the attention span of an ADD Mayfly! :slfg:
  19. Severums are pretty hardy, FAR more than the clown loaches, if they're surviving the severums will be fine.
  20. The "Awdamnit now I have to reprime my filter" method. I use that frequently too.
