  1. "Ok, but you're paying for it." That would kill any plans even quicker.
  2. So basically the weather is going to be the same as it's been almost every day for the last 6 months.
  3. Ouch, even xtra is better than that. How do you not use up 1gb? I think I hit that in a day and that's without any big downloads!
  4. I use a bit of water and a paper towel, or some glass cleaner. You mean for the inside of the tank? I haven't cleaned the inside of the glass in my tanks in years.
  5. Landscaping supply place. I think there are something like 100 that come up if you search on yellowpages.co.nz in the Auckland region.
  6. The guy's fingers on the front look relatively large, makes me think maybe the photo may not be faked but just misleading due to holding the fish closer to the camera. And I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd be seriously straining holding up a fish as big as that looks.

    Eheim Thermofilters

    2 fluval FX5s or 6 CF1200s...
  8. I don't think marine tanks would be that bad if you're smart about it. Keep the lights off or only minimal lighting, everything should be fine for a couple days. You could probably cut back on the pumps a bit too, though most powerheads would use minimal amounts of power. With the cheapies for an emergency you'd need to remember to start them occasionally. Run it for 5 minutes every month or so. Otherwise it probably won't start when you need it.
  9. I love all the World Of Warcraft signs around wellington... Wait, maybe that's not WoW means on the signs...Hehe.
  10. Also, the tank can't overflow if you raise the pump up enough, or size the pump chamber right so it doesn't hold enough water to overflow the tank. It's pretty straight forward to do.
  11. Looks like flintstones style girders.
  12. I think I have an account on the other one, but it was so slow when I looked I decided there wasn't any point.
  13. He's conveniently stuck to the front glass where I can measure him now... 300mm to the fork of his tail, about 375 including his tail.
  14. Mine doesn't seem to mind backing out.
  15. BTW, anyone that wants to try this, you need a diamond wheel. The normal cutoff wheels if you try them on rock take about 2 seconds until the whole wheel is turned into a big pink cloud of smoke. Leaves a very nicely polished nick in the rock that you can just barely feel with your fingernail...
  16. I'm planning on doing something similar too, when I get a chance.
  17. No, you shouldn't need to silicone them, but many people put a thin layer of silicone on each side just in case.
  18. It's actually been about 2 weeks since my car started getting covered by yellow pine spooge while parked. And the roads around here get an yellow tint too.
  19. I think if he's planning on running only maybe 1000lph through it then 32mm plumbing is probably overkill. I know bigger doesn't hurt anything but I was running about 3000lph through iirc 25mm.
  20. I love pollen! Anything to torture the faulty broken immune system people.
  21. Apparently not. Or my just not to the same extent as the vaccine does. That's assuming that their vaccine actually does work, which at this point, going by the article, is not definite.
  22. You don't cure it. There are a few treatments that can make them survive a bit longer, but no real practical way of curing.

    Heating

US power ratings? I wouldn't worry too much about using a heater and electronics designed for 120v on NZ 220v mains... It will just get really hot and then let all the magic smoke out. That's not a problem, is it? That particular one should work fine though. It says it's for 220-240v 50hz.
