  1. I have two that must be like 7-8 years old, both have water in them and have for years and years. I don't see how the ceramic could be a cause of moisture.
  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCgbYnNAbSM
  3. I'd probably pay $50 each for a true severus as long as it's within the next month or two. Think we can arrange another 149 people willing to do the same?
  4. Then what are all the severums we do get?
  5. So then no goldfish allowed, or albinos, flowerhorns, etc.
  6. Given cabomba seemed to grow ok in my pond...
  7. Like has been mentioned, for anything remotely expensive or unusual you're going to have a hard time finding 50 people to even buy 1. Everyone goes, "OMGOMGOMG, I'd buy a dozen of them if someone brings them in!!" And then when they're brought in everyone evaporates.
  8. Let me guess, you have some lights off to the side of the tank? Many fish orient themselves towards the light. Turn the tank lights off with a bright room light outside and you'll find the entire tank swimming around at a 45° angle.
  9. Yes, that is the problem. MHs have a big inrush current that eats timers. Even expensive ones sometimes.
  10. So...Don't buy a 4 foot unit. Other units for house lighting, industrial etc show up reasonably frequently for $100ish.
  11. A single bristlenose hiding behind the filter intake not moving in high speed for a couple weeks, I can't think of anything more exciting.
  12. I have a goldspot and a redspot. I like the reversed patterns.
  13. Maybe a few bucks per dozen. Mostly just for the labor to collect them.
  14. Maybe if it was something out of the ordinary. But tadpoles are common on Trademe. So either there must be something unusual about them that's unclear or your post doesn't really have any meaning.

    LED lights

Only difference would be color frequency. If you can find exact model numbers or anything of the leds you should be able to find out the color spectrum, leds tend to be a bit monochromatic though.
  16. If your concern is calm areas then my suggestion would be put them in or pointing at the calm areas.
  17. Usually if they turn white it's because they've fungused.
  18. Then throw it in the freezer if you're concerned.
  19. Hole in the head isn't really fatal and definitely not over a couple days, maybe over years. Sounds like stress from the move and the lip damage definitely more like from an argument.
  20. I'd just but the 5 more. He'll either be fine or die, the melafix won't make much of a difference.
  21. Odering's Upper Hutt has it. They normally stock it and had 4-5 bags when I was there last week.

    LF rocks

Yup, landscaping place. Obviously going out and collecting them yourself is free, but unless you like searching for it the time is probably worth more.
  23. He's big, but he's not freakishly big. I have two that look roughly that size right now. Good conditions and good feeding from birth most should be that kind of size in 3-4 years. Many get stunted, I think.
  24. It doesn't cost that much. The two containers I've been feeding my fish cost about $80 all together, bought about 4 months ago(Maybe longer, actually) and probably good for another month. So that's about $.50/day. So that's basically the price one meal for me per month to feed my fish. That's not bad at all.
