  1. You blush even more when you see how dexterous they are, at least in guppies anyway, they can wave them all over the place!
  2. Why would you want to dose with copper unless you want to kill snails?
  3. Simply...Males have a willy, females don't.
  4. Just curious what the ideal temperature range for natives is? Chiller requiered, fans only needed? I suspect thanswers will put me off and make the decision that I don't want any for me.
  5. Awww, you guys always kill off these Koi or "Stream Guppies" auctions before I get to see them. Knock it off you bass turds.
  6. Couple years in jail and couple hundred thousand dollar fines.
  7. There are several hundred thousand tree species in the world most of them if they fall into water will then become driftwood.
  8. I think, from your description, you have these... I think there's a frog that sounds a lot like that kiwi recording, and a few other birds.
  9. Your wonderfully detailed description of their call was very helpful in narrowing the possibilities down. As for birds that would be calling about that time the first handful that come to mind are moreporks, tuis, woodpigeons, those black birds(I don't know their names), magpies, peacocks and frogs. Tuis and I think magpies are very good parrots too.

    Zebra Snails

Yeah, but we have native bioluminescent snails, those are much cooler.
  11. Just checked my latest pay. With the GST increase and the income tax decrease I'm up $40/month.
  12. You've forgotten the most important detail. Was the food ok?
  13. Apply a generous application of waiting to the fin twice daily for 2-3 weeks.
  14. Depends on who you ask and where you are it might be a banned plant.

    Lemon Tetras

I don't think you get neons for $4 around here often.

    Lemon Tetras

I think they were pretty cheap last time I saw them, $6-7 each?
  17. Our roads around here are generally pretty well maintained, much smoother than, for example, most of the highways in LA. And healthcare here is EXTREMELY cheap. My last trip to the doctor cost like $50 including 2 weeks worth of antibiotics. Compare to my brother in the US he mentioned once his last trip to the doctor for a sore throat was about $150nz for the appointment, about the same amount on top of that for antibiotics and this is on top of paying $900nz for medical insurance that is about the same level coverage as I get for $50nz/month here.
  18. Depends, does it have a hood?
  19. Yeah, brown fish in brown muck in the pond covered by green water...That's the whole reason that goldfish were bred to be gold, so you could sort of see a goldish blur in the muck.
  20. Eels maybe, most others are more river fish that don't do well in ponds. You realise you won't actually be able to see the anyway, right?
  21. That's cause your mom is only worth $3.50.....
  22. The only reason not to make large changes is if your new water is significantly different than in the tank. So you could do like 99% every day because the water in your tank wouldn't change much in a day, but 25% might be a bit much if you only do a change every month. I do 50% a week, sometimes 75% if I forget I'm draining the tank, it's a waste of time doing small changes imo.
