  1. thanks for your reply. How will I know if one is pregnant? I got 16 of them and no idea who is male or female, and I dont want to overstock the tent.
  2. My female guppy had about 16 babies a few months ago, and they are still fairly small. Are they able to breed? How do I know what is a male or a female and do I just keep them in the tank and they will automativally breed?
  3. We have just returned from a holiday south. When we returned my brsitlenose cleaning fish has disappeared. There is no body, no fish. One tetra was dead but all the guppies and remaining tetra's are fine. I have cleaned the tank, searched behind everything but sadie (my cleaning lady) has vanised. Can anyone solve this mystery?
  4. Thanks a bunch, that worked all nice and sparkly again Did you have a good Christmas?
  5. I tried to scrape some off with my nail and after a fair bit of scratching it moved. But every time I look there seem to be more of them. All my fish are life bearers, the only one I am not sure of is the bristlenose. I have been feeding cucumber a few times but the spots dont look to be algae or mould. Any suggestions/Ideas?
  6. so I just pour the whole contents through a handkerchief, get rid of the water and feed the fry whats left in the hanky? all at once? Thats what I mean, very expensive even without the cost of the hatchery. There is hardly anything there from the one sachet. And 3 sachets are about $14 from memory that is over $4 per feed.
  7. I got a hatchery and used it according to the instructions on the box about 28 hours ago. Now there are tiny tiny miniscule things floating in it. Someone said you have to feed it to the fry within 24 hours or it loses its nutrients. First off, how do I feed it to them? There was no instruction about that, all that was in the box was the black hatching box, a small container with a lid with a hole that goes upside down on top of the hatchery. Oh and 3 packets of eggs, but for that price, if the food in each sachet only lasts 24 hours it makes the food more expensive than my own. Am I misinterpreting something? By the way I got about 18 cute little fry which I have placed in a seperate little netlike cage.
  8. Thanks for your reply, very helpful. How long do I need to keep the fry seperate?
  9. I put the four babies in a separate container inside the tank and the mother fish is also in a separate floating tank. How long do I keep the babies isolated, should I catch the others too or leave them (been there since yesterday) how often do I need to change their water. Just sucked it up with a sponge and replace it with the tankwater. How long do I keep the mother separated, she loooks a bit sad in the little tank all by herself
  10. uhmmmmm excuse my lack of english but what is dexterous? I know ambi dexterous which is being left as well as right handed........hmmmm should I get the blushed faces ready?
  11.
  12. She was pregnant when we got her, I have no clue what sex the others are, i dont find it easy to tell  the difference between boy and girl fish.
  13. Thats what worries me, I dont fancy having to empty the tank and start all over again just now I have things going well. Tank cycled and fish looking healthy, not had one die on us in ages except for 1 last week which was a new one, may have been sick already.
  14. thanks I hope this works. , what about the snails in the big tank? they are very very tiny, if it wasnt for that fact I saw one move, I wouldnt have noticed.
