  1. Just thought I'd update this thread quickly. I got Excellence on my assignment! Yay! :happy2: Thanks again for your help with the survey everyone
  2. I've just been though all the results and tried to match everyone's name to their profile to get the location, which wasn't too hard because I know some of you or you have your name in your signature or as your username. So I just have these last few that I need the location/home town for. I won't put your real name on here in case you don't want that, so I will just use the holiday destination. Just reply on here or PM me if yours is in the list below and let me know your location. Then I'll be able to figure out the distance from your location to your destination - Went to Napier, Hawke's Bay. Stayed at friends place. - Went to Tauranga and stayed at camping ground. - Went to Waipaua forest and stayed at DOC cabin. - Went to Hanmer and sayed at Hanmer Resort. - Went to Whiritoa, Coromandel Peninsular. - Went to Wellington and stayed at Bay Plaza. - Went to Rotorua and stayed at Capri Court Motor Inn. - Went to Great Barrier Island. - Went to Christchurch and stayed at auntie's place. - Went to Tauranga and stayed at friends place. - Went to Mangawhai and stayed at friends place. - Went to Christchurch and stayed at hotel. - Went to Dunedin and stayed at motel. - Went to Moeraki and stayed at the camping ground. Again thanks for all the help with the survey guys
  3. I've just been and read over all the crap I've wrote and realized what an arse I've been. I think it's just another case of me misinterpreting what others are saying. Sorry for being a an idiot
  4. Looking awesome! I can't wait to see it planted Are you going to get a whole lot of plant cuttings and put them on a tray and plant them with those fancy tweezers like Amano does it? :slfg: :bounce:
  5. I'm not offended by your comment. I just think that it is rather pointless to go round saying "That's not a nice tank" where the point in the thread is just to share photos of different tanks so people get an idea of the diversity of different types of aquascaping styles and it is just interesting to see a whole bunch of photos of lots of different tanks. What might be the best tank on the web to you might be different to what someone else likes. I am sorry if I misinterpreted your comment. Although it doesn't state exactly what camera they used for the shot, some of the photos in the portfolio are on ADG's flickr page with the exif data, including the type of camera used. Take this shot for example - http://www.flickr.com/photos/fxwazeter/ ... hotostream So I think it would be pretty safe to assume that they used a similar type of camera for the photos of the discus tank as well. The photos may have been edited in Photoshop afterwards, which is not a bad thing because when used properly editing software is a great tool to touch up photos and achieve good results. So that may explain why the tonal graph is a bit off. If you don't like the photos then you are entitled to your opinion, but I still think that they are awesome and I certainly wouldn't be complaining if I took something like that I don't pick up on stuff like tonal graphs. I just fidddle around with the settings until I get an image that looks good to me, and then I might make a few more adjustments during post processing if I think it is necessary.
  6. Lol poor photography :rolfl: The point in this thread is for people to post what they think are good-looking tanks. Like you said, each to their own. When I look through this thread there are some tanks that I personally don't like very much, but it is interesting to see what other people's tastes are and what they think is a nice tank. Everyone does not share the same set of guidelines for what they think is a good tank. And if this tank is just nice, I wonder what that made my tanks when I had them set up... :slfg:
  7. +1. Not to mention that they used a top quality camera as well. Here's the link to ADG's portfolio for more of their work - http://www.aquariumdesigngroup.com/

    substrate

Those sorts of things are not available in NZ. There is not enough demand in the country for products like ADA. Go with Seachem though, it's probably about the best quality plant substrate you can get here.

    Little things

    Awesome work :happy2:
  10. Beautiful aquascaping and awesome plant growth !drool: One of the best planted tanks in NZ I reckon  When you go to replace your light tubes, I've heard a 50/50 combo of Arcadia Freshwater Pro and Plant Pro looks really good. Just a thought to keep in mind
