  1. Yup, Same volume passing through a smaller area=higher velocity.
  2. It could be argued that the lack of outbreaks proves the regs effectiveness.
  3. Looks like it could use some cross pieces to avoid pancaking.
  4. Don't fishes needed stay in tank instead of overflow?
  5. That's not a tank crash. That's just a bit of green water. Just do what everyone else has said, should clear it up.

    danios

Why not? They're pretty much one of the staple fish.
  7. They're far too large to be acute.

    shrimps

That sounds about the right size.
  9. Probably diatom algae from the sound of it. Also, unless you're wanting to sell it the trade and exchange forum is the wrong place for this.
  10. I think you're better off totally stripping it down. And probably a good idea getting a handful of corner clamps to help hold it all in place.

    Who has koi?

    Is this an IQ test?
  12. I tried running a couple 404s in a series once. I did it to see if they'd self prime easier but was expecting a drop in overall flow(But higher head capacity). Instead it started an odd surging.
  13. Yup, it's doable, you obviously end up with twice the plumbing. You can run them off one pump using a Y connection, might want some valves to tweak the flow and you'd want to make sure in a worst case of all the flow going to one tank and its overflow is a bit clogged up that it won't overflow.
  14. I think that's the "Water cycle device" in the description.
  15. The internal silicone doesn't really do much, it's the silicone between the panes that I'd worry about, that's the stuff under stress.
  16. Maybe Fish and game should be paying a bounty on these destructive predators that are eating all the native wildlife?
  17. What's their lifespan at 30 degrees though? I'd be tempted to drop my main tank's temperature down to about 25 if they'd actually live long term in that temp. I assume I'd need to slowly acclimatise them to the higher temps though.
  18. I think you're going to need a bigger tank.
  19. There are redtail cats around, but I don't know about new imports. They definitely qualify as large.

Wouldn't upstream tend to be cooler rather than warmer?
  21. Should be ok as long as you don't stock it too heavily.
  22. Haha, Yeah, I think those might be the same people that called up my sister in law. She said they claimed to be from microsoft and that her computer had a virus. Says they had her "Enter some kind of code." But she couldn't say where they had her enter it or what it was. *Facepalm*
  23. Is that a 4X2X2 or the smaller 4 footer? My 4X2X2 I'd put two of them on it.
  24. Provides a bit of evaporative cooling, blows heat from lights out of the hood, airation or circulation is pretty negligable, but on a tank that is on the edge of overheating it can make a big difference.
