Nothing lasts two seconds with these guys. If it's green.... it's gone
  4. Thanks for your help guys. I have done a few water changes since then and it has almost completely cleared up. Fish is eating/acting perfectly normal, all seems well. No signs on any other fish either.

    Uaru

They have laid a few times but I have never seen them hatch as they normally get eaten. I used to have another pair prior to these ones that I got a lot of fry out of but they died a few years ago. I just left them to it and didn't have room to raise the fry at the time.

Figured you guys might like to see my pair, around 3 years old. Love these guys.
  7. Hi everyone. Sorry for poor pic quality, hoplos are ruthless photo-bombers.. Not to sure on what this is exactly, came up a couple of days ago on all three of my juvenile Uaru. First thing i did was a 50% water change and that cleared up on the two smaller ones but the biggest seemed to have it the worst and is still in the same condition. My first thought was white spot because he his covered in white lumps, however in some places these seem to be patches as well. As far as i know white spot is a small parasite and consists of smaller white spots, not lumps and patches? I'm guessing it is some sort of fungus? The tank is bare bottom and has 6 small hoplo catfish, 3 juvi Uaru, and two small plecs (L001). I purchased the plecs 3 days prior to this and added a large piece of drift wood on the same day. Any help would be great.
  8. +1 on above post. GBRs for sure :nfs:
  9. Not fussy on species, looking at getting some in the next month or so after i get rid of some cichlids. Have a breeding pair of Uaru and Gold severums + two other urau adults that i would consider swapping for the right deal. (These are also for sale so pm me if ur keen)
  10. Good healthy Breeding pair. Had them since they were fry, male is about 15-16cm and Female is about 13-14cm. Laying eggs every 1-2 weeks. Last lot of eggs were layed within 8 days of the previous batch. Need the tank space as i'm looking at changing my tanks up a bit and cutting down numbers. Any questions feel free to ask.
  11. Siphon them out into a bucket or a smaller tank, you risk crushing them if u use a net. Merry Christmas :cr2:
  12. Prety sure its a festivum, i have kept them before.
  13. Hi all. Just wanting to know if anyone here has any experience keeping these, or even better has breed them. Im thinking about giving it a shot in my spare 300l by growing out a few and letting them pair off. Any thoughts or tips will be greatly apreciated.
