  1. And Bourbon... You have to keep your fluid intake up
  2. Stay strong and with a little luck you will pull through. If not my thoughts go out to your family. Make sure you have a little bell beside your bed
  3. Back in the days when o rings were actually made of rubber, petroleum based lubricants were a no no but now that almost all o rings are made from neoprene or other synthetic polymers its fine to use pretty much any lubricant.
  4. MOD's.... I cannot believe that you edited critter_crazy's post because you thought that she was "Posting to cause a reaction" What the hell do you think this whole thread is about ????? BURN is winding you all up and you are punishing the valued members of this forum who express their dislike of his actions
  5. Agreed, I was showing someone wendtii green today in 3 different tanks with 3 different lighting systems and 3 different fertiliser regimes and they all look totally different. But if I had to guess I would probably go with wendtii green
  6. I had a 250w MH about 50cm above one of my tanks and it caused algae problems. Since I have changed to 150w I have had no problems at all. Those 400w MH's also create a lot of heat
  7. Many Ancistrus species can be crossbred. I have done it a few times. Some people will argue that this should never be done, others will argue that the offspring should never be sold, yet others will argue that its ok to sell the offspring as long as you sell them as hybrids In the end its your call
  8. 1 = male, 2 = female, 3 = female Look at the pelvic fins
  9. Go on Ryan, I recon you might get this one right
  10. But In the diagram the small bottle contains no water so it cant be a bubble counter. I agree that if it contained water it could then be used as one
  11. It's there so if any liquid escapes from the 1st bottle it ends up in the second bottle and not in your tank. It's not a bubble counter.
  12. I'm waiting for Calico Bristlenoses to show up
  13. To be honest I have never used it, it doesn't even have the outlet holes drilled yet. It was given to me ages ago and i have had no desire to use it as my sumps work perfectly fine without it. I am happy to pass it on to someone wou can use it, just pay the postage. This is the spacer and bearing set up
  14. Is that your return pump in the middle chamber of the sump ? If so you will get no turn over of water in the right hand chamber
  15. I recon I saw Grant coming through Riwaka at about 4pm yesterday
  16. Nope never had to return anything. So far I have found all of their products to be of good quality. I did receive a refund when they forgot to include and item in my order. But I suppose that's the trade off between buying locally at a higher price and buying cheaper from overseas, As long as the buyer is weighing up the options and prepared to wear any perceived risk then its all good.
  17. I just got a 3 foot lighthood with 6 X T5HO 10000k tubes for $207 delivered plus an additional 6 tubes for $16 each delivered.
  18. Iodine is good for fish and some products like JBL aquatrop J contain iodine. It's the anti caking agent in table salt that is the concern but I think that in the quantities used in fish tanks it isn't really an issue
  19. My fault, Sorry  As Simon mentioned, I was cleaning up some spammers accounts and because yours was similar looking it got caught in the clean up.
  20. One of my sumps is used to grow java ferns and to temporarily house homeless plants.
  21. Congrats. The first thing you need to do is change Bruce's name to Brucette
