  12. i agree, the cf range is your best option for good price to filtration power. Depending on your stocking level, a cf500 might even do. However, the price difference across the range isnt huge, so get the best you can. I used to just rest my old 100lt on an old tv cabinet. As for fish, it depends on what you like, you can do a planted tank with various barbs and neons etc. Or a cichlid tank (avoid oscars and ones that big). I had a senegal, 3 baby borneo tigers, a pictus cat, and a small clown knife. I would suggest you have a look at other tanks and get some ideas.
  13. remember, saane (the lady i put through you to) is beating down on the regional lending manager of tauranga to give you lending. That should save a huge amount of money.

  17. can we go on the streets and pitch up a sign in like the middle of queen street to fund raise? or do we need permission? i could do that for a day or two till my exams start... anyone else keen to help?
  18. been there today, 3 hour drive there and 3 hour drive back, sore and tired, but nothing to complain about, the hundreds of beautiful birds, all healthy and obviously well looked after, guinea pigs and cows and pigs as well. loved the fish room, fantastic atomosphere. saw the hand pieced pavement, literally brought a tear to my eye, same with my girlfriend when i told her the story. good luck, will definately visit again, so hope things work out!!
  19. separate the oscars if they continue to fight. The fuzz is a bacterial infection. Do a big waterchange for the oscars. Add some melafix. I find oscars are rugged beasts and dont die so easily. Good luck!
  20. same with my borneo tigers, goes nuts when i feed them. When my girlfriend trys to feed them, they ignore her and the food like they are not there. (have had many a threat to sell my fish because if they dont like her, she doesnt like them either! )
