  1. Awesome...Thanks for the tips Caryl :gpo2:
  2. Thanks Alan Will I kill my lillies by uprooting them while they're flowering?
  3. Hi Everyone I've tried getting rid of the algae in the bathtub in back yard which has White Cloud Mountain Minnows in it but have decided to clean it out completely . I realise this is late to do this as my water lillies are flowering but am wondering if they'll live or die if I carefully take them out, repot and put them in buckets of water until I finish cleaning out the bathtub? Will leave dividing them until early spring next year. Also wondering if the algae will wreck the plants in garden surrounding the bathtub as I was just going to bucket out the water and sludge and use in garden? Apart from water lillies I also have a few other pond/marginal plants which are taking over the bathtub as I just planted these in the substrate when I set up.....would these be ok to plant in plastic pots with holes drilled, lined and small stones for anchors then place them around the bathtub at different heights. Appreciate your help :sage:

  7. Yes they did grow rather fast  No aggression at all...have to say the only aggression was the odd spat between the male dems but no deaths and no major injuries. Reckon the trick was adding them all to the tank together and they were all the same size plus I had so many rocks for them to make territories in....I was told to do this by a couple of breeders and it obviously works thank goodness :happy1: :happy2: I was sad to see them go but will probably start another cichlid tank sometime in the future and do the same thing as it was great watching them all grow out. Good luck breeding your Giraffes :nfs:
  8. The tank is 4ft..about 260 litres.
  9. UPDATED PICS Unfortunately I'm shutting down my African Cichlid tank &c:ry ..have had poor health for quite some time so have decided to lighten the load and am only keeping my 4ft tank in lounge. My African Tank has been a labour of love and have to say I'm glad I did my homework and asked so many questions prior to setting up the tank as all the fish have got along and didn't lose one single fish so goes to prove you can have a aggression free cichlid tank . Hope you enjoy the pics below:-
