  1. Ryan has gone over Peacekeeping, he is in the Airforce. I am not sure exactly where Timor is.. middle eastern area? Oh it's over there somewhere....
  2. Do you take the shell off the pea Caper, like just feed the inner?
  3. My guys had to go in a hospital tank, they are very large silver dollars and wouldn't have fit in a trap
  4. No I didn't feed them at all. They weren't in a state to eat anyway. I had them in a hospital tank 8)
  5. Heya sandysme Would love to meet you I would have to check with my hubby tho about Saturday... as pretty sure he has something on for us to go to, he is asleep at the moment so will ask him in the morning... 8)
  6. Hmm if she was already thin or possibly sick or weak she may not, only time will tell, good luck 8) Is she swimming around or is she just laying there, she might have also gone through a fair amount of shock also.
  7. They look really neat supasi, gotta love the different pencils that are around in recent times... I love the rocket pencils that are around too. Keep us posted on the breeding of them
  8. Mine has a top hat   I don't think it is a whale without a top hat
  9. I would never class African as messy fish... their eating habits are nothing like Oscars and other larger more gutsy individuals. I have found that Africans often fossick around for food, Haps often sifting substrate as clean up and mbuna always tucking into something.... Definately never class them as messy at all... extra filtration is always good if you have a very well stocked African tank..
  10. They would go in excellent with Rainbowfish... wouldn't say the dwarf species of rainbow tho, the good thing about the Rainbows is the fact they are quick too 8) I love them, and reckon a planted tank with Sajica and Rainbows will look great.
  11. I have just a small holding tank at the moment with some tidal creatures... garden crab, hermit crab, 2 starfish (1 blue, 1 pink), 4 cats eyes, 2 anemones.. of which are greedy buggers  Little fidler crab types..... neat types of algae and some sort of bristle type feather duster type worm that sits low yet pops out of the rocks, and the feathery bits are dark blue, very pretty... Will add to our collection later on down the track once the main tank is done. I will pop some pics up tonight in Saltwater section
  12. Ok guys now back to the original thread topic "Quality Fish Shops" The original thread that involved the incident mentioned in above posts has now been closed due to issue being resolved.. This thread was made by Luke on a positive note 8)

    Fin rott

Melafix used as a med is good for fin rot.
  14. You obviously haven't seen many examples of African species then Dixon... I suggest you remove your blinkers  Yes the Sajica are fantastic fish... we certainly would never part with the species... have some young that will be available at some stage soonish 8)
  15. They would probably survive Dixon... well some, some wouldn't do so well long term... :-? Depending on what your water is like.. what your ph etc is.. some happily have their fish living in ph of around 7.5 yet have never stipulated what their kh is... We love the buffer recipe 8)
  16. Yeah I would get replacement impellor, as livingart says 8) It sometimes pays to have a spare incase it needs replacing at anytime 8)
  17. Alot of people are happy keeping their African fish in what their tap water gives them The buffer recipe I use in our Fron tank and other displays... I have found our fish have been much happier with recipe so give them what they are happy with, colouration.. activity etc http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/buffer_recipe.php
  18. Yeah if you don't want to receive updates from them you keep the box unticked... However, I want updates so kept it ticked.... It is great that you can check up to see how your whale is doing  The whole thing has gone to a good cause, need those Jap whalers to keep their mits off as many whales as possible
  19. Isn't the recipe great.. rather a few Af keepers use it overseas if need be... Would love to see more pics 8)
  20. Ahhh you have caught the same bug as me  We have a few cold water critters in a holding tank at the moment, setting up a big cold water marine later on in the year... What sort of critters are you wanting to keep in it?
  21. You should be able to remove the impellor and check it... sometimes they just break down and you need to replace impellors on canisters.... easy enough done and you can still get impellors for that model... Just check that there isn't something clogged up inside where it sits....
  22. Does it buffering qualities? It is beautiful
  23. The part that spins around.... inside the head of the filter... Sometimes when they need replacing the filter starts making a horrible noise... or if something is caught up around the impellor...
  24. That looks excellent marto... what kind of rock is that? Love the darkness of the rock, a very rich colour 8)
