  9. Hubby and I will have to give it a miss this weekend unfortunately, we would really have loved to come and were coming up until recent... Thursday last week our young boy came down with Scarlet Fever, and even tho he is on the mend and feeling much better, he is very tired and we would rather not travel this weekend with him... I hope all you guys have a ball 8)
  10. There were a pair where hubby works, they came in, darned expensive too, but sure enough ants looked the same as the pic you showed me, real chunky bodied too, the pair were in excellent nick, and get this, the other guy that worked there sold one out of the pair So female was left... argggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh (where is a spitting tacks emoticon when you need one..)
  11. Thanks adodge, yeah he has almost a metallic blue sheen across the body.. thanks heaps for your info, he is going to be bred with a lovely deep red girl with blue through her... should be fun at least to breed something different for a change, must say too, I am quite taken by the fighters, never thought I would say that.. but after having these I am pretty smitten
  12. Heya I have decided to give breeding fighters a whirl for a change, and after owning them for a little while now I am rather attached. I have a lovely little female who is ready to pop with eggs, and no matter how many times my past male blew a beautiful big nest, he was just so intent on giving her the beats or more so looking at himself in the glass instead of breeding... they did breed once, yet he was a real dead beat dad... so... I handed him onto my mother for her nice little planted tank set up... And I have bought this male pictured, he is a real nice sized fighter and displays beautifully to the female, shes in the large plastic jar that is floating in his cubicle tank that he is currently residing in for a couple of days... Please could someone let me know what sort of fighter he is... colourwise etc.. Thanks so much.
  13. Welcome fishoe 8) I am pretty sure I have seen some of your posts
  14. They will settle in nicely Ant N, once they adjust over time, mine took a while to settle in, now it's a case of always seeing them
  15. We breed GBA's well actually it seems our GBA's breed for us.. they are constant..  Recently we had a male fanning eggs in a tube cave... a heap... next thing here he and the female are, shes laying a batch under the big bog wood curve and he fertilized them... moved back to the original lot.... to keep fanning and these ones are left under the log, we took the ones that weren't being looked after and put them in a tumbler, and they are all fine and dandy. We have our GBA's in a nice size tank, not overly deep but long and wide, a nice flow of water with power head in water, good current. A few tubes for caves, nice piece of bog wood.... and have found that leaving the parents without a water change and then suddenly giving them a good water change has set them off into breeding again.
  16. What do you like about them? The fact they can't see?
  17. Are you actually wanting formoso Dixon?
