  1. Welcome to what? That should be the Fishroom, anyway, SamH... Welcome Sam.
  2. Hmmm, mutant frogs? Reminds me of Blinky from the Simpsons
  3. How you measure the colour depends on the test kit. API you hold the tube up to the side of the card and look at the side of the tube, JBL you sit the tube on top of the card and look down, Salifert is the from the top as well, and Sera I cannot tell you because I only have a KH kit and all you are looking for is a colour change, but I suspect they are from the top as well because the diameter of the tube/test vial is larger giving a less concentrated view, whereas the API ones are narrower than a standard test tube.
  4. They are around somewhere - trouble is no one remembers where they were put  It was used for an installation, so there is a hole drilled in the back of the freezer bit for a power cord - nothing a bit of gorilla snot and some duct tape cannot fix.
  5. Oh yeah, smack the poor little discus on the nose with the cube of bloodworm! I am feeling rather bilious after the waving of the camera around near the end, and what is it with you and Vivaldi - you work for a different bank now - and don't say they are owned by the same company, still different advertising campaigns Looking good btw.
  6. EC50 of a quantal dose response curve represents the concentration of a compound where 50% of the population exhibit a response after a specified exposure duration. LC50 value is the concentration of a material in air that will kill 50% of the test subjects Retrieved from: http://msds.dupont.com/msds/pdfs/EN/PEN ... 007210.pdf
  7. Hmmmm... there is a little fridge at work with no seals on the freezer bit... 8)
  8. Those little red chicken legs seem to be trembling - what do you think, Caryl?
  9. Just be thankful that you are divided by a body of water, I have heard on good authority that she can thump you one pretty hard
  10. Yup, Miss Nine's school does - got rid of the boiler room and turned it into the sports shed.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR

Awww, poor Ira... Best wishes for the new year everyone.
  12. Nice pics, Lily is such a soft colour - will she darken up?
  13. Sushi - from The Catch in Courteney Place, or Yum Cha at the Majestic, same street, down towards the Embassy theater end.
  14. You need that special spray that makes blood show up under ultraviolet light for that rock
  15. I am somewhat concerned that ID's man cave has cool, damp situations, rotten logs, stumps and hollow trees, damp leaves and stones
  16. Mmmmmm.... chocolate..... It is now raining heavily in conjunction with the gale force winds - so semi horizontal rain. Dammit, I should have gone to the supermarket earlier...
  17. It is blowing a gale here at the moment, forecast 130 - 160kmph gusts and rather warm - it is like standing in front of the hairdryer on medium, the cats are looking squinty and rather annoyed at the wind, but still follow you around outside, just in case they miss out on something.
  18. Hmmm... I seem to recall seeing those candles before somewhere... Happy birthday Sky :happy2:
  19. Distracted huh - sure you weren't dragged away kicking and screaming like a kid?
  20. At work for documenting exhibitions - dying to try out a time lapse, I have a cactus flowering on the windowsill at work that opens and closes in a day, but will need the AC adaptor for the camera. It really chews the laptop battery as well, usually get five hours out of it, but running the camera I am lucky if I get two.
  21. Would it be worth siliconing the 'caves' together to stop them falling over in an earthquake - or to stop digging fish undermining them and causing them to collapse?
  22. Hey ID, do you have a laptop? I have been running a 450d via the EOS utility that is on the disk that comes with the camera, it can give you a live view on your laptop or computer screen along with adjustment and remote camera firing, saves you having to guess the settings and squint at the results on the display, or have to download them to see if they are any good. It also allows for timelapse photography over many hours, but you will need to get a power adapter for your camera if it is going to be set up for any length of time.
  23. Or you buy a gang valve, connect up one outlet to your sponge filter, set it to full flow and adjust the other to bleed off until you get the flow that you want out to your sponge. 25w heater, ph sits at about 6.6 The little squiggly lines you can see at the top in the middle are daphnia swimming about - the photo has a long exposure because the tank is so dark.
