    Tinted glass

I think it would look fine, I usually put tint (window tint that they use on car windows) on the sides of my tanks, I find it helps with not letting to much light into the tank, which in turn can cause algae. I dont think there is a downside to this and I don't think it would look stupid. Good Luck Lynda
  3. :an!gry Hope you told him off  Frustrating when you try to set the tank up nice, then they decide they want to do some landscaping of their own
  4. I think it looks exactly as you said you wanted it to look, like a storm had hit your Tank, to me thats what it looks like, some Val would look nice in there too

  9. Can anyone tell me if we have the Onion Plant available in NZ Plant name is: Onion Plant - Crinum thaianum Was looking at some photo's of people's tanks when I was re-doing my Tank ready for my Malawai's and came across this plant, I thought it looked similar to Val. Here is abit of info on it: Onion Plant Crinum thaianum Photo © Animal-WorldLatest Reader Comment - See More Maybe this is kind of stupid, but is this plant edible? (eat-able?) Ngo Huong Tra The Onion Plant is a great and hardy plant for many aquariums because it's leaves are extremely tough, making it suitable for aquariums with larger fish! Water Onion Plant Contents Distribution: Water conditions: Lighting: Propagation: Availability: Onion Plants are easy to care for and adapt well to most aquarium environments. They can grow to an impressive height of 60 inches (150 cm), with their leaves being about 0.8 inches (2 cm) across. Their leaves are extremely long and ribbonlike, and will start growing along the surface of the water once they reach it. Once they are well established you can cut the leaves back some to keep them from growing too long. Because of their height and long leaves they make great background plants for aquariums. As long as the light is kept moderate to bright, Onion Plants will expend a moderate growth rate. As stated above, they adapt easily to most environments, so as long as the water is kept fertilized with nutrients, the water is cleaned on a regular basis, and the ph is kept around neutral, this plant should thrive. It is also relatively easy to propagate by simply planting the daughter bulbs that are produced.

  16. Have talked to hubby, he tells me the largest we have is 150mm in Tech Screws, he recommends if you are going to use Tech screws, you really should glue and screw te stand using 175mm Tech Screws. Have you thought about using Coach bolts with the nut on the end??
  17. I might be able to supply you with the Tex Screws, we sell them to the TV Aerial Technicans that buy gear off us. If you give me the size and how many you need I can pop them into a courier bag for u Lynda
  18. I guess if they were in the wild, they would no when enough is enough :roll I would leave them be, they will know when they have had enough of each other
  19. I would go with something like silica sand or small marble chip. I think the white substrate will bring the colour out of the rocks more than a dark substrate. Loving the shape of the rocks, they rock
  20. p44: I just got the usual Cories, nothing fancy lol Albino, Julii, Panda, Spotted Graham C: Sounds like an interesting way to clean sand, think I will just stick to the bucket and hose
